WCFOA

Learn the rules …continue in the game…

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING A FOOTBALL OFFICIAL? (we can point you to a local association)

The Westchester County Football Officials Association (WCFOA) is recruiting now with the hope of interesting and inviting students to the 2004 WCFOA certification class for new officials.

There are no specific requirements for becoming enrolled in WCFOA other than an appreciation of the game of football, a desire to learn the officiating profession, and an interest in helping young adults. We need new people to come out and be a part of this outstanding opportunity to serve the community, enjoy the camaraderie of fellow officials, earn some extra money, and be involved in a game we all love.

The WCFOA is recruiting new members for the 2004 football season. We provide football officials for varsity, junior varsity, and modified high school teams throughout Section 1, NY State. The WCFOA conducts classes to teach students the rules of football and field sessions to teach students the mechanics of good officiating so that they too can become a good, qualified official. Past WCFOA members are now working at the college level and one is in the National Football League. Members also work Pop Warner Youth leagues, Semi-Pro leagues, Flag Football and Touch Football. All began their officiating career as high school officials.

If you are interested in receiving more information about this unique opportunity and want to consider enrolling in the 2004 certification class, please call Doug Scott, WCFOA’s Education Committee Chairman. Doug can be reached at 212-391-9075 during the day and 914-738-3159 in the evening.

This year’s student school will be held August 3rd, , 4th, 5th, 10th, 11th and 12th at Ursuline High School in New Rochelle, NY. Classes start promptly at 6:30 p.m. Make the right call now.

Thanks for your consideration. Good luck, good sportsmanship and have a great season!
