Tuesday, May 6HHS WINS ONE LOSES ONE ON FIRST DAY OF DISTRICT TOURNAMENT
HHS advanced to the winner's bracket final with an 8-3 win over Smyrna Saturday afternoon at Mt. Juliet before falling to Mt. Juliet 10-0 in game two. That sets up a rematch of HHS vs. Smyrna on Monday afternoon at 4:00 with the winner to face Mt. Juliet at 7:00.
Brandon Hall was the winning pitcher in game one for HHS giving up three runs in the first inning but no more as he pitched out of a bases loaded and no-one out jam in the fifth before giving way to Lundy Slaton who finished the game with two scoreless innings. Harold Cannon hit a three-run homer in the first inning to give HHS a 3-0 lead. Kendall Snyder had a two-run double with two outs in the third and AJ Dulay had an RBI single with two outs as well. Ben Hendrix and Ryne Nicolson each had solo homers to complete the scoring for HHS.

HHS SPLITS WITH WILSON CENTRAL TO EARN #5 SEED
The Commandos had a chance to move up into third place in District 9AAA with a sweep of Wilson Central on Monday night, but it was not to be as the Wildcats took game one 17-5 over HHS, before the Commandos bounced back to take the night cap 8-7 in a rare day which saw the teams play one game at Drakes Creek Park and then travel to Wilson Central for the second game. Wilson Central jumped ahead 7-0 in game one before HHS rallied to cut the lead to 7-5 in the third inning, but Wilson Central scored 3 in the top of the fifth and seven in the sixth to end the game.
Game two saw sophomore left-hander Dennis Jones pick up his fourth win of the year as he tossed six and 1/3 innings of great baseball allowing a lead-off homer in the bottom of the first and an unearned run in the third before settling in and not allowing another run until the seventh. Trailing 2-0 in the fourth, the Commandos scored seven runs. RBI hits came from Kendall Snyder, Harold Cannon and Ryne Nicholson in the inning as HHS took a 7-2 lead. The Commandos added insurance in the fifth as Snyder doubled and later scored on a RBI grounder from Colton Mansfield. Wilson Central loaded the bases on Jones in the seventh before Jeffrey Keyes was summoned from the bullpen. After back to back hits put the tying run on second with two outs, Keyes induced a grounder to first to end the threat and the game and pick up the save for Jones. With the win HHS improves to 15-11 overall and 5-7 in district 9AAA. The Commandos will be the #5 seed going into the district tournament and will play #4 seed Smyrna on Friday night at Mt. Juliet.

JV ENDS SEASON WITH 8-6 WIN OVER STATION CAMP
The HHS JV Commandos went 3-1 in the White House JV Tournament this weekend to finish in second place behind Mt. Juliet. The Commandos defeated Station Camp on Saturday night in their final game of the season 8-6. HHS led early 5-1 behind five solid innings of work from Adam Dorris. Dorris ran into trouble in the fifth and he was relieved but not before Station Camp took a 6-5 lead going into the sixth inning. Kody Milam and Robbie Stanley were hit by a pitch to lead off in the top of the sixth. An infield single by Michael Caldwell loaded the bases and Seth Owens unloaded them in with a double to dead center field over the center fielders head to give HHS an 8-6 lead. Matthew Griggs came on in relief in the bottom of the sixth to toss a scoreless inning and pick up the save. Jacob Keller, Owens, Caymen Russell and Robbie Stanley all had RBI hits in the win. HHS had earlier defeated White House 11-4 and Wilson Central 10-1 after losing to Mt. Juliet 4-0 in this weekends tournament. The JV team concludes their season with a 13-5 record, having a very successful season. Thank you to all our JV players for their hard work. HHS DEFEATS WHITE HOUSE 9-8
The Commandos rallied from an 8-0 deficit on Thursday night at Drakes Creek Park to defeat White House 9-8 with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Trailing 8-6 in the 7th, Colton Mansfield walked and made it to second when Austin Harris reached on an error by the shortstop. Eric Chastain reached on a wild pitch and Mansfield scored on wild pitch to make the score 8-7. Chad McDaniel laid down a perfect suicide squeeze bunt to drive in Harris and reach first safely to tie the game and put runners at the corners with no outs. McDaniel stole second and Ben Hendrix was intentionally walked with one out to load the bases. Kendall Snyder hit the second pitch he saw up the middle for his second two-out run scoring hit of the night to drive in Chastain with the winning run from third, giving HHS the walk-off win. Snyder had four RBIs on the night. Jeffrey Keyes was the winning pitcher for HHS tossing two scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win.

HHS DEFEATS MT. JULIET 10-7
The Commandos again battled the No. 1 ranked team in the mid-state, Mt. Juliet on Tuesday night and this time rode an 8-run first inning and 5 and 2/3 innings of relief work from Dennis Jones to defeat the Bears 10-7. Daniel Tucker led off the game with a walk and stole second base before scoring on an RBI double by Ben Hendrix. A.J. Dulay singled to put runners at the corners before Kendall Synder drove in courtesey runner Jacob Keller with a sac fly to leave a runner at second with one out. Harold Cannon reached on an error and Colton Mansfield followed with a three-run homer to right center field to make the score 5-0. HHS would add three more runs in the first highlighted by a two-run double by Dulay. Mt. Juliet answered with a lead-off homer in the bottom of the first and five runs in the bottom of the second before sophomore left-hander Dennis Jones came on in relief. He allowed two inherited runners to score in the second and a run to score in the third but threw the next four innings in scoreless fashion including striking out two me in the bottom of the seventh to pick up his second win in as many outings. Chad McDaniel, Dulay, Hendrix, Daniel Tucker, and Harris all had multiple hits in the win for the Commandos.

HHS LOSES TO MT JULIET 4-2
The Commandos went toe-to-toe with the No. 1 Ranked team in the mid-state on Monday night at Drakes Creek Park taking a tie game into the sixth inning before falling to Mt. Juliet 4-2. Junior right-hander Brandon Hall pitched a complete game striking out five Bear batters in an impressive outing, allowing only two earned runs in his seven innings of work. Austin Harris and Eric Chastain had back to back hits in the third inning before both scored on a suicide squeeze bunt by Chad McDaniel to give HHS a 2-1 lead. Mt. Juliet tied the game in the fourth and scored a run in the sixth and seventh to take a 4-2 lead. The Commandos other best chance to score came in the bottom of the sixth as the first two batters of the inning reached, but to no avail.
Monday, April 21
HHS DEFEATS MCGAVOCK 15-0
The Commandos defeated McGavock 15-0 on Friday night in a rain-shortened game at Drakes Creek Park. Harold Cannon had a two-run double in the first inning and Eric Chastain and A.J. Dulay had multiple hits on the night for HHS. Sophomore left-hander Zach Curtis pitched four shut-out innings giving up only one hit for the win.
Saturday, April 19
HHS DEFEATS HUNTERS LANE 10-8
The Commandos defeated Hunter's Lane 10-8 on Thursday afternoon at Hunter's Lane. Harold Cannon pitched five solid innings to pick up the win for HHS allowing three runs, two earned in five plus innings of work. Jeffrey Keyes come on in relief with the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the sixth and he got a pop-up and a strikeout to end threat. Keyes then struck out four Warrior batters in the bottom of the seventh as one batter reached on a strikeout and an error, to earn the save. A.J. Dulay had a triple and a single and four RBIs and Ben Hendrix added two singles and three RBIs to lead the HHS offense for the day.
Thursday, April 17
HHS DEFEATS SMYRNA 10-6
The Commandos and Bulldogs took nine innings to get a winner on Wednesday night at Smyrna with HHS coming out on top 10-6. Ben Hendrix doubled off the right field wall for his fourth hit of the night with one out in the 9th and A.J. Dulay doubled to score Hendrix and give HHS a 7-6 lead. Kendall Snyder then homered to left to make the score 9-6. Colton Mansfield doubled and scored on an RBI single from Eric Chastain to make the score 10-6. Sophomore lefty Dennis Jones came into the game in the fifth inning with the bases loaded and he allowed one of the inherited runners to score and then did not allow another run in the game for HHS. Jones also made a key play in the bottom of the eighth as the Smyrna leadoff batter walked, but Jones made a diving catch on a bunt to double off the leadoff man for two outs and ending the threat in the eighth to extend the game and give HHS a chance to rally in the ninth. Snyder had two doubles, a homer and a single on the night to go with Hendrix's four hits to lead the HHS offense. With the win HHS improves to 10-9 on the year and 3-5 in district 9AAA while Smyrna drops to 6-4 in district play.

HHS DEFEATS SMYRNA 9-5
The Commandos got a much needed win on Tuesday night at home against Smyrna 9-5. Trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Kendall Snyder hit a three-run homer to left to tie the game at 4-4 and then HHS scored five more runs with two outs in the fifth to take a 9-4 lead. Brandon Hall picked up his fourth win of the year with the complete game effort.
Sunday, April 13
JV DEFEATS STATION CAMP 7-3
he HHS JV squad got its second win in a row on Thursday night at Station Camp 7-3. Adam Dorris picked up the win on the mound going to the distance in a seven-inning performance. He allowed only one earned run on five hits. Station Camp led 2-0 going into the bottom of the top of the sixth when HHS rallied for 6 runs on several hits and several Station Camp errors. With the win the JV team improves to 7-2 on the year.
Thursday, April 10
HHS LOSES TO BEECH 4-1
The Commandos lost to Beech 4-1 on Wednesday night at Beech. Junior Brandon Hall held Beech to two hits on the night but walks and two HHS errors allowed Beech to score their four runs. HHS scored its run in the first inning as Ben Hendrix and A.J. Dulay singled and Kendall Sndyer was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Harold Cannon drove in the run with a ground ball to give HHS the lead 1-0. Beech scored a run in the bottom of the first, two in the third and one in the fourth to get their total of four. With the loss, HHS falls to 8-7 overall and 1-3 in district play.

JV DEFEATS BEECH 5-4
The JV Commandos got a complete game from Dustin Dykes to defeat Beech 5-4 on Wednesday. Robbie Stanley had two doubles and two runs scored on the day and Kaymen Russell had a two-run homer for HHS.
Wednesday, April 9
HHS DEFEATS MEMPHIS UNIVERSITY SCHOOL 3-1
The Commandos got back on the winning track on Saturday defeating Memphis University School 3-1 in the USA Classic in Memphis. Brandon Hall turned in a solid performance on the mound tossing 6 and 1/3 innings striking out 10 MUS batters and allowing only two hits and one earned run. Dennis Jones came on in the seventh inning with one out and men on first and second to record a strikeout and a groundout to earn the save. With the game deadlocked at 0-0 in the bottom of the third Seth Owens led off with a single, stole second and came around to score on a two-out double from A.J. Dulay to give HHS a 1-0 lead. M.U.S. tied the game in the top of the sixth at 1-1. In the bottom of the sixth Kendall Snyder and Ben Hendrix led off with back to back singles. A strike out and a pick off left Snyder at third with two outs and Ryne Nicholson delivered his first homerun of the season to give HHS a 3-1 lead and the game's final score.
Friday, April 4
HHS FALLS TO NATIONALLY RANKED CHRISTIAN BROTHERS 5-3
The 7th ranked team in the Nation Christian Brothers scored four runs in the second inning and held on for a win over the Commandos in the opening round of the USA Classic in Memphis. HHS scored two runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead as Daniel Tucker and AJ Dulay were hit by pitches and scored on a two-run double from Kendall Snyder. Junior right hander Lundy Slaton tossed the complete game for HHS allowing all five runs, four of which came in the second inning and only three of which were earned. HHS rallied for a run in the top of the fifth as Snyder and Ben Hendrix had back to back singles and Harold Cannon had an rbi single to cut the lead to 5-3 but the Brothers escaped further damage and held on for the win.
Monday, March 31
HHS GOES 2-2 IN WARRIOR CLASSIC
The Commandos went 2-2 in four games in the Riverdale Warrior Classic this weekend losing to Oakland on Thursday night and splitting games with Clarksville Northwest and Germantown Houston on Friday and defeating Cascade on Saturday. Corey Bracey and Brandon Hall picked up wins on the mound while Harold Cannon picked up two saves in the two weekend wins. Hall pitched extremely well on Saturday morning striking out eight in five innings allowing only 1 hit to Cascade in a game which was tied in the fifth inning 1-1 when the Commandos turned a triple play to escape a two on and no-one out jam. HHS then exploded for 10 runs in two innings to get the victory over a strong Cascade team which was 9-1 coming in.
Saturday, March 29
HHS FALLS TO OAKLAND 4-2
In a matchup of two of the top baseball programs in Middle Tennessee over the past few years and two top 10 teams in the Mid-State Tennessean poll the Commandos fell to Oakland 4-2 on Thursday night at Oakland. HHS scored first in the top of the first as Daniel Tucker led off with a single and moved to third on a double from A.J. Dulay, one of Dulay's two hits on the night. Kendall Snyder drove in Tucker and was robbed of a hit at the same time as HHS took a 1-0 lead. Oakland responded in the bottom of the first with three runs on one hit. The Patriot lead-off man reached on an error and after a strikeout and a walk, a two-run triple gave Oakland the lead. A wild pitch made the score 3-1. Commando starter Dennis Jones escaped further trouble in the first, but gave up an unearned run in the bottom of the second before settling in for the night. The sophomore left hander, making his first career varsity start struck out seven Patriots while giving up only three hits in the complete game losing effort. HHS cut the lead to 2 in the top of the third as Tucker again singled and scored on a sacrifice fly from A.J. Dulay, but that was as close as the Commandos would get. Several warning track fly balls and a couple of solid defensive plays from Oakland helped seal the win for the Patriots.

HHS DEFEATS ANTIOCH 7-0
The Commandos returned from Spring Break with a 7-0 win over Antioch on Wednesday night at Drakes Creek Park. Junior right-hander Lundy Slaton picked up his third win of the year tossing the complete game shutout, striking out 6 and walking only one batter while giving up only four hits. Seth Owens got the Commandos first run of the game in the bottom of the third as he came home to score on a double steal with Daniel Tucker. Tucker scored on a double steal with Colton Mansfield who came all the way around from first on the play as the throw got away from the Antioch catcher. A.J. Dulay had two hits for the Commandos in the win as well.

HHS LOSES TO GALLATIN 9-1
Gallatin scored 6 runs in the first inning and never looked back on Thursday night at Drakes Creek Park. Dennis Jones and Zach Curtis pitched well in relief for HHS while Ben Hendrix had an RBI single to account for the only HHS run of the game. With the loss HHS drops to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in district play.
Wednesday, March 26
HHS DEFEATS GALLATIN 4-2
The Commandos opened play in the new format of District 9AAA with a 4-2 come-from-behind win at Gallatin on Tuesday night. Gallatin struck for 2 runs in the first innings off of Lundy Slaton but the Junior right hander settled in from there and got the complete game victory for his second win of the season. Gallatin right-hander Dustin Todd matched Slaton pitch for pitch until the fifth inning when HHS got to Todd for three runs. A leadoff walk to Harold Cannon was followed with a base-hit from Troy Watson, the Commandos first of the game. Austin Harris laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt and the throw to first got away allowing Cannon and Watson to score and Harris to move to third. An RBI single from Daniel Tucker scored Harris and Tucker eventually scored on an RBI single from A.J. Dulay to give HHS four runs in the inning. Slaton escaped a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the fourth and a leadoff single and a first and third situation in the bottom of the fifth before retiring the side in order in the seventh. With the win HHS improves to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in district 9AAA.

JV DEFEATS GALLATIN 6-1
The JV Commandos improved to 4-1 on the year with a 6-1 win over Gallatin. Sophomore right-hander Robbie Stanley went the distance on the mound keeping the Green Wave hitters off-balance all day. Britte Underwood, Seth Owens, Colton Mansfield, Daniel Tucker and Ryne Nicholson all had RBIs on the day. The JV will next play on Wednesday at 4:00 against Gallatin.
Monday, March 17
HHS OPENS SEASON WITH 15-3 WIN OVER ANTIOCH
The Commandos opened the season with a 15-3 win at Antioch on Monday. Brandon Hall pitched six innings striking out 10 and walking only 1 Bear batter. Kendall Snyder had a grand slam in the second as HHS scored 8 runs in the second inning to put the game out of reach. Snyder drove in five runs on the day and Ben Hendrix drove in four to lead the Commando offense.

HHS DEFEATS BRENTWOOD 9-6
The Commandos got a come from behind win over Brentwood at LaVergne High School on Friday in the Smyrna Grand Slam Challenge 9-6. After falling behind 5-1 in the fourth inning, the Commandos rallied to cut the lead to 5-4 off basehits from Ben Hendrix, Harold Cannon, Colton Mansfield and Daniel Tucker. Austin Harris had a two-run single in the top of the sixth to put HHS ahead 6-5. Seth Owens, Chad McDaniel and A.J. Dulay had Rbis to give HHS insurance in the sixth and seventh and the Commandos held on for the win. Brandon Hall pitched the first three innings giving up five tough luck runs as a bloop single and a ball tipped off the pitchers glove scored three of the five runs. Hall gave way to Sophomore Dennis Jones who picked up the win going four innings allowing one earned run and only two hits to pick up his first career victory.

JV DEFEATS STATION CAMP 7-4
The JV Commandos improved to 3-1 on the year with a 7-4 win over Station Camp on Thursday at Drakes Creek Park. Adam Dorris picked up the win on the mound for the young Commando squad. A.J. Moran had a hit and an outstanding diving catch in centerfield in the win.
Monday, March 17
HHS LOSES FOR FIRST TIME IN 2008 11-4 TO RAVENWOOD
The Commandos fell 11-4 on Thursday against Ravenwood at Oakland High School. Ravenwood scored five runs in the first and held on from that point. HHS had a chance to get back in the game in the fifth inning as Ravenwood led 9-4, but the Commandos left the bases loaded to end the threat. HHS left eight runners on base for the game. Harold Cannon homered for HHS in the loss and Kendall Snyder had two hits on the day to lead the HHS offense. A bright spot on the mound was 1 and 1/3 innings of scoreless relief from Cory Bracey.
Monday, March 17
HHS DEFEATS MCGAVOCK 16-6
The Commandos got homers from A. J. Dulay and Kendall Sndyer and a strong outing on the mound from Lundy Slaton as HHS improved to 2-0 on the young season with a 16-6 six inning win over McGavock. Sndyer had a two run single in the first, a solo homer in the fourth and a two-run double in the fifth to lead the HHS offense. Dulay, Ben Hendrix, Colton Mansfield and Harold Cannon also had RBI hits on the day. Slaton tossed four + innings allowing only two one earned run in the win.
Wednesday, April 9
HHS LOSES TO BEECH 10-3
Beech pounded out 13 hits and scored 10 runs and capitalized on seven HHS errors to win 10-3 over the Commandos at Drakes Creek Park on Tuesday night. Austin Harris had two hits for HHS and Kendall Snyder, AJ Dulay and Colton Mansfield drove in the only runs of the game. Sophomore Zach Curtis threw 3 and 1/3 innings of relief striking out five and allowing only two runs of which only 1 was earned.
