6/25/09 BASEBALL TRY-OUTS FOR 2010 SEASON JULY 6-8
Try-outs for all returning players and any other players for the 2010 baseball season will be held on july 6-8 from 9-11 AM at Drakes Creek Park on Field #3. All returning players, incoming 9th graders, and any other player that would like to try-out should plan on being at these try-outs. If you have any questions call Coach Hendrix at 305-2147 or Coach Gilley at 477-8123.

6/25/09 HENDRIX AND CURTIS NAMED TO ALL-REGION TEAM
Congratulations to Ben Hendrix and Zac Curtis who were named to the 2009 Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association All-Region Team for Region 5. For a full list of all the members of the All-Region teams go to www.tbca.org.

6/10/09 EIGHT COMMANDOS NAMED TO ALL-COUNTY TEAM
HHS had eight young men named to the 2009 All-Sumner County Baseball Team. Hendersonville's eight was second to only Beech who had nine named to this year's squad.
First Team:
Zac Curtis, Daniel Tucker, Austin Harris and Ben Hendrix
Second Team:
Kendall Snyder, Lundy Slaton, and Chad McDaniel
Honoroable Mention:
Adam Dorris, Britte Underwood

6/10/09 THREE COMMANDOS MAKE TBCA SHOWCASE TEAM
Congratulations to Britte Underwood, Daniel Tucker and Zac Curtis who will represent HHS in the 2009 Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Junior Showcase on June 19-20 at MTSU. They will play with 20 other teammates from Regions 5 and 6 against the top juniors from all over the state. If you can make plans to go out to MTSU on these two days and support these young men in this great event.

5/27/09 COMMANDO POSTSEASON AWARDS
Several Commandos received post-season awards at the year-end banquet. Ben Hendrix, Lundy Slaton and Daniel Tucker were named to the District 9AAA All-District team. Zac Curtis was voted by the district coaches as the 2009 LHP of the year in District 9AAA. Austin Harris, Ben Hendrix, Kendall Snyder and Zac Curtis were named to the District 9AAA All-Tournament team. Mr. Kent Snyder was named the winner of the 2009 Worth Scott Award and Jeff Parsons and Johnny Angel were inducted into the Commando Baseball Hall of Fame. Check here throughout the next few weeks as more post-season awards will be announced.

4/28/09 MCDANIEL TO CONTINUE CAREER AT TREVECCA
Senior short-stop Chad McDaniel has committed to Trevecca University to continue his baseball career in the fall of 2009. McDaniel will make it official on Wednesday. Congratulations to Chad and his family for this outstanding decision.

4/27/09 GOLF TOURNAMENT A SUCCESS
Thanks to the 68 golfers who came out today for our 3rd Annual Golf Tournament. We had great weather, the course at Bluegrass Country Club was in great shape and everyone had a great time. Thanks to Mark McDaniel and Kent Snyder for all their hard work in organizing this event. Thanks to all the parent volunteers who were there to work today and those who put together gift bags and helped keep the tournament running throughout the day. While we do make money for our baseball program on events like these, it is the fellowship among former and current players and parents and friends of our baseball program that make all the hard work to get these events up and running worth while.

4/25/09 ALUMNI GAME A SUCCESS!
Thanks to all the alumni who came out on Saturday night at Drakes Creek Park. We had 11 alumni play in the game and nearly 20 who came to eat, take batting practice and enjoy a great evening of fellowship. The Alumni won the game over the JV team by a score of 8-1. Mark McDaniel and Chris Hewgley were named co-mvps of the game. McDaniel would have won the award outright had it not been for a horribly misplayed fly ball in right field that lead to the only run allowed by the Alumni team.
