Capital Improvements to Facilities

Below are some of the various major improvements or equipment replacements we've made to the Lindsay-Lyons Softball Complex through the years:

  • CONCESSION RENOVATION CAPITAL PROJECT (2008) - Our Concession Project is Complete!!!  Ike didn't help us any on our schedul, but we now have all new electrical wiring, new counters, cabinets and drink coolers, plus other wonderful improvements.  Stop by to check it out!!
  • FIELD TARPS (2008) - These are the large white rolls you see along the fences.  They will be used to cover the infield should we have rain that can impact our schedule.  Sometimes, it is hard to get the fields covered in time for coming rain, plus it takes lots of people to roll them out, but we now have the option.  Please help if you're called on to do so to either roll these out or back up. 
  • OUTFIELD SPRINKLER SYSTEM (2007) - an outfield sprinkler system was installed.  This is new, we didn't have one in the outfields previously. 
  • OUTFIELD FENCE PROTECTION (2007) - yellow plastic casing was installed across the top of all the outfield fences.  This is a safety item for when girls are retrieving long hit balls, in addition to a visual improvement.   
  • DUGOUTS EXPANDED (2006) - additional concrete was added and the back fence of all the dugouts was extened back to provide more space in the dugouts for the players and gear. 
  • BLEACHER COVERS (2006) - all bleacher covers and dugout tops were replaced. 
  • SCOREBOARDS (2006) - all 4 scoreboards were replaced in addition to new control boxes in the field boxes to keep score.  Please excercise caution with the equipment; keep it in the red canvas cases and unplug when not in use. 
  • INFIELDS (2006) - all 4 fields were crowned and cut and new dirt was added. 
  • FOUL POLES (2006) - 8 new foul poles were constructed and installed.

Future Items being considered:

  • Batting Cages (addition of more and improvements to existing)
  • Pitching Practice Cages (between fields; contingent somewhat on electrical being underground)
  • Replacement of old field lighting/wiring to take it underground (current estimate is 130k and will not be County funded, so this one may take awhile)
  • Netting/Foul Ball Retrieval system overhead (contingent on underground electrical so the center pole by concession is removed)
  • Maintenance/Office Building and storage area
