Fall Season Summary
Thanks to everyone for being understanding during the delay and re-scheduling of our Fall Softball Season. We are excited to be able to continue with our Fall Season, but will need everyone's help and cooperation to get through it with our required field sharing. We're doing the best we can with our reduced resources. Practices started at the fields Oct 4th and the start of the Fall 2008 season games will be on Sat, Oct 18th. The practice schedule is now posted on the web site in the Handouts & Forms section; Fall Season Information.
Field Status (we'll only have 3 fields this season):
- Field 3: can be used; no lights
- Field 4: off limits to everyone due to unsafe backstop
- Field 5: can be used; lights working currently
- Field 6: can be used; lights working currently
Please help us to keep everyone off of field 4. If you see children playing on field #4, please ask them to get off. It (the backstop) is an unsafe area and we must keep everyone off of it.
Below is a summary of this season's key dates. Depending on rainouts or other reschedules, we may need to add additional weekday game play dates, but other than that, this is the schedule we will do our best to stick with. The Game Schedule will be published soon.
Sat Oct 18 First League Games
M-F Oct 20-24 Games (including Wednesday)
Sat Oct 25 Games

Sun Nov 2 NO GAMES, but reminder that Daylight Savings Time Ends

GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS!!!
One positive thing you'll notice at the fields this fall is our concession stand improvements. Just before Ike visited, we had started our concession renovation project. Although it has been delayed, we're expecting it to be complete by Oct 18th with all new electrical wiring, counters, cabinets, some new equipment and other improvements you'll see once it opens up. We're happy to see this capital project getting done!!
See you at the fields,
Your Humble Girls Softball Board of Directors

Lost & Found Items
All personal items should be labeled with name and phone number if at all possible. If items are turned into a coach or a board member, they will be placed in Field Box #6 on one of the shelves. It is open during game days/nights or any board member can open it for you to look for items missing. Periodically, remaining items will be donated to local charities, so check in there often if you're missing something.
