6U Purple Panthers Battle Back at Rec Metro to Win 2nd
6U ASA Rec Metro-2nd
The 6U Purple Panthers (HGSL Recreational Team) took 2nd place at the ASA Rec Metro tournament. We lost our first game but fought our way back to the championship game. We won the first championship game but lost the second game. The girls played 4 straight games in 90+ degree heat and just ran out of gas in the fourth game. I have never seen a set of 6 year old girls give so much heart in playing.
I was so proud of them they gave 199% effort in the tournament.
Coach Richard Maglievaz

Lost & Found Items
All personal items should be labeled with name and phone number if at all possible.  If items are turned into a coach or a board member, they will be placed in Field Box #6 on one of the shelves.  It is open during game days/nights or any board member can open it for you to look for items missing.  Periodically, remaining items will be donated to local charities, so check in there often if you're missing something.

STATE, The Movie

Inspired by True Events

The film STATE is inspired from the lives of two very dynamic and successful fast-pitch softball coaches, Jimmy Iturralde and Ed Aycock.

Ascension parish residents in Louisiana were devastated to hear the news that both arch rival coaches had terminal cancer and only months to live.

The lives of these two men is the inspiration behind STATE and will serve as a tribute to their passion for life and the athletes they coached.

From the Production Team of STATE

It has become our passion to tell the inspiring story of STATE. We look forward to seeing this movie become a reality. Along with Tom McCarthy and the PFX Tour athletes, we believe this movie can impact the sport of girl’s fast pitch softball and provide a positive role model for young female athletes. We’ve discovered a glaring gap of positive sports movies for the young female athlete and the international demand for inspirational sports movies that feature the female athlete as the primary actors.

Our goals for this movie are very simple. We desire to honor this sport and provide positive role models for young female athletes. It’s a family oriented movie and is best described as, “Million Dollar Baby meets Remember the Titans”.

One of the important pieces of our puzzle is to secure the remaining finances in order to begin filming.  In order to accomplish our goals as independent film makers and tell our story, it will require individuals and businesses to get involved.  We look forward to making "STATE” a successful movie.
