Heavy Metal Gets Busted Badly Vs. Ball Busters
Two Poor Offensive Games In A Row...Gotta Stop This Trend...

Bare-bones statistical info for now --

This game's MVP:

Frank Fletcher -- 11 points (3 for 3; 1 walk; 2 singles; 1 HR; 1 RBI; 1 run; 1.000 BA -- that's two in a row; always plays the game the way it should be played)

Honorable Mention(s):

Rich Avery -- 10 points (2 for 4; 2 singles; 2 RBIs; 2 runs; .500 BA)

Mike Lujan -- 6 points (2 for 4; 2 singles; 2 runs; .500 BA)

Joaquin Perez -- 5 points (3 for 4; 3 singles; 1 RBI; .750 BA)

Next game "O-fer" Shirt sighting(s): The list just keeps adding up with Gene Hitt, Lee Garcia, Joaquin Perez, Rich Avery, Johnny Lopez (all previous make-ups) -- plus Wes Avery and Johnny Lopez this game -- getting to do the "virtual" honors next week. Because of the hot weather, I've been more concerned with player comfort than with bringing out "the Shirt"...so, we'll just have to see...!

As for defense, these selections are what I came up with, starting with this game's MDP: No defensive stats nor plays were noted this game...very poorly played, especially by the infield (I'll raise my hand) -- let's try to turn this around, boys...

Here is where everyone stands cumulative point total-wise (offensive stats only) after our seventh game (in descending order):

Wes Avery -- 81 points
Steve Stafford -- 66 points
Joaquin Perez -- 62 points
Rich Avery -- 54 points
Frank Fletcher -- 47 points
Donny Aguiar -- 45 points
Mike Lujan -- 44 points
Vern Amaro -- 35 points
Lencho Martinez -- 27 points
Lee Garcia -- 24 points
Gene Hitt -- 24 points
Brian Hollingshead -- 15 points
Lucio Cobos -- 1 point
Johnny Lopez -- 0 points
Paul Lawrence -- DNP

Final Comments: From what I've seen on the official standings sheet that the scorekeeper had, every team has a chance at some prize, be it first or second place, before the league is finished -- let's see if we can still get us some...!
