Heartland Showcase

Showcase Participants:

Your team roster has been emailed to you and schedule can be found by clicking on your team name on the Teams page then on Schedule. You should have received a password from Yvette via the eteamz site. If you don't received one, you may request it through the site or contact Yvette to have it re-sent.

The concession stand will be open throughout the day for food and drinks. The profit from the concessions benefits the music programs in Dublin schools.

Dublin Scioto is a hybrid turf field, bring appropriate shoes, water bottle, shin guards, BOTH color of socks (dark and light), mouth guard, stick and a BALL -  Games are 7 v7 plus a goalie. We will play corners- goalie and 3 players back. Everyone plays- there are no subs - Games are half-field with two games happening at once - Home teams are listed first - wear light shin guards - Away team get pass back and wears dark shin guards. Each team has a different color shirt and there are NO duplicate numbers.

Upon registration, you will be given a uniform shirt (color matches your team name) - it has your number on the front and back. We also have shirts for goalies with number front & back. Wear any color shorts you want.

There is a trainer available on site to tape, etc. Allow enough time to see him and warm up if needed. - On the field you are assigned to a volunteer who will direct you to your teammates and assign you a place to warm up.

In compliance with OHSAA, NO high school coaches will be on the field. It is your responsibility to find your teammates and make sure you play the position you desire. We divided positions as evenly as possible - every team has forwards, midfielders, and defense. There is no set formation on how you set up and play. If you have questions, you need to speak to the volunteers. They will be wearing Heartland Field Hockey t-shirts.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call. Nikki 614-477-7063 or Yvette 614-532-0152

Heartland Field Hockey Showcase was started in 2004 to give Midwest field hockey players an opportunity to display their skills for college coaches. This is especially important for players who are unable to participate in the National Field Hockey Festival, Disney Showcase or perhaps cannot afford to travel to college camps. This year we welcome players from Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvanis. There are 7 field players and a goalie on each team. If there is no goalie, an extra field player is allowed. Half field format is used. There are no subs and the players coach themselves. In keeping with Ohio High School Athletic Association by-laws only 5 players from one high school may play together on a team. Also, high school coaches are not allowed to coach their own players. Coaches are available to answer questions but do not actively participate in coaching.

Players learn very quickly how important communication is and soon form cohesive teams. Many of the players will participate in the National Field Hockey Festival and are able to play with some members of their Festival team.

We hope to see this event grow each year and encourage college coaches to come and watch these young athletes. All attending college coaches will receive complete rosters and profiles of the participants at no charge.

College coaches may access rosters through the website but must request an access password. Brief profiles are included with the rosters.

We look forward to meeting you at our 6th Annual Heartland Showcase
