8-4-14: Our 12s were eliminated today from the Regional tournament in Indianapolis.  They won yesterday, giving them a 1-3 pool play record.  That win also put them in a position to get one of the top 4 spots in the tournament and a berth in the semi-finals.  But they needed Minnesota to beat Nebraska and score at least 3 runs in the process.  Oh by the way... they also needed that to happen in 6 inning because of the Little League run differential tie-breaker. Minnesota did 2 of 3.  They beat Nebraska 3-2... in 7 innings.  That extra inning gave Nebraska a slightly better run differential and knocked our boys out of the tournament.

7-27-14: The 12s are the IOWA STATE CHAMPIONS!  They become the first Headid team to ever advance to the Regional.  They are a few games away from the Little League World Series.  The team avenged a pool play loss to Grandview in the first game of pool play by taking them down in the championship.

So they are moving on and play in Indianapolis!  Check back for more details. Also, follow @HeadidBaseball on Twitter for more updates.

7-26-14: Tournament Update

The Headid Seniors lost both of their games at the Iowa state tournament and were eliminated from the tournament.  Congratulations to this team for winning their district tournament and representing District 6 at state.

7-25-14: Tournament Update

The 12s keep rolling!  A 6-4 win over Johnston yesterday clinches a championship game berth for them even with one more pool play game to play.  Peyton Popken, Kobe Clayborne, and Justin Kirwan hit HRs for the good guys.  One more pool play game today vs Appanoose and then the championship game tomorrow with a trip to the Regionals in Indianapolis on the line.

7-24-14: TOURNAMENT UPDATE

The 12s won again yesterday, 13-0 over Davenport.  They are currently 1st in the standings with a 4-1 record.  They play a critical game vs Johnston today at 4 PM.  If they win, they are in the championship... if they lose they'd need to win some tie-breakers to advance the the title game.  LET'S GO!

7-23-14: TOURNAMENT UPDATE

The 12s are in Centerville and are riding a three game winning streak after losing their tournament opener. But they've bounced back to beat Lucas County 11-9, Knoxville 17-2, and Boone yesterday 1-0.  They are still in the hunt for the State championship!

The Headid Seniors advanced to the State tournament last Saturday by sweeping the Morningside All Star in a double header... 11-6 and 10-5.  They are looking to advance further and will play the State tourney here in Sioux City at Strikers Park this weekend.
