Tag Day is Saturday, May 19th
Tag Day is a great way
to let the community see our players and to allow them show their support for us.
This long-standing tradition in Havre De Grace generates much needed revenues for
the league, but it also creates and maintains goodwill within the community at
large.
Without fundraising
activities such as Tag Day the League would be forced to raise registration
fees considerably. Let’s get all of our
teams out there this Saturday and show our pride in the Little League and in
OUR community. See you Saturday!!
HdG Little League will be participating in the HdG 2012 Independence Day Parade
FYI - We have been
invited to participate in the HdG 2012 Independence Day Parade, to be held on
July 1stthis year. This is our third year marching
behind the Little League banner in this event. Marching in the parade is a fun
way to celebrate our Independence and to show our pride for our city and the
Havre de Grace Little League.
A flyer will be handed
out to team managers for distribution to all players/parents in the next few
weeks.
Baseball Schedules are Available for Download in
the Handouts Section
The baseball schedule (Senior, Junior, Major, Minor & Rookie)
includes the Snack Bar Schedule.
Occasionally, games may be cancelled or postponed due to rain,
etc. Your team manager and coach(es) are always your best source for schedule
changes and important events (such as Snack Bar duty, Tag day, Picture day,
etc)

Snack Bar Duty Assignment
Team managers are reminded that they are responsible for
identifying parents to fulfill Snack Bar duty as assigned. The league generates
income from the snack bar that helps us to keep registration costs as low as
possible so please encourage parents to volunteer – and show up – when your
team is scheduled.
UMPIRE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We are seeking parent volunteers for umpires for the Major, Junior
and Senior Divisions for both Baseball and Softball. Training and uniforms will
be provided b the league and this is a fun and easy way to help our kids enjoy
a wonderful Spring Season!
Volunteering is the best
way to keep our registration costs down. Interested parties should contact
Stephen Billings at sbrentbill@yahoo.comor call him at (443)
310-9322. Managers: please take a minute to ask your team parents if they are
interested in umpiring a game or two.
Snack Bar Manager(s) Needed
As you may be aware, we
don’t have a snack bar manager for this season yet. Please poll your parents
and ask if anyone iswilling to consider taking on this responsibility, even on
a shared basis. Please forward the name & contact information of anyone
interested in helping out to Don Crites or myself. Perhaps we can get 2 or more
parents to share snack bar manager duty?
Snack Bar Helpers
Snack bar duty is
assigned to each team on a rotating basis and each team manager is responsible
for providing at least 3 adults/parents to arrive prior to your teams assigned
shift in order to get a quick run-down of what they will be doing.
Many of our parents have
already worked in the snack bar and can confirm that it is not a difficult
task; rather it can be, and usually is, quite enjoyable. I don’t believe that
we are asking too much of our parents - just a few short hours once or twice a
season so that we can afford to continue to provide a great experience and fond
childhood memories for as many kids as possible at a comparatively low price.
The bottom line for all
of us is that our snack bar generates funds for the league to enable us to keep
our registration costs as low as possible so that any child that wants to play
baseball or softball can participate. Any help that we can get from our parent
volunteers is sorely needed and greatly appreciated.

Board Meetings: Come help to shape the future of Baseball, Softball
& Tee Ball
When: 2nd Wednesday of the Month @ 7PM (8PM during
season)
Where: the Lilly Building at Stancill Field
NOTE: The June Board meeting has been moved to June 6.
All parents/volunteers are welcome to participate in helping to
shape the future of baseball, softball and Tee ball in our community. Please
plan to attend - everyone is welcome and your input is always appreciated
