The youth programs are designed to enhance existing skills and develop new ones with emphasis on sportsmanship, skill technique, hard work, and fun in a team atmosphere. Experience levels vary based on program.

·         Volleyball Skills Development (Winter, Spring & Fall)

Practice makes perfect! This program is designed for beginner/intermediate players who enjoy this exciting sport and want to learn more. Individual players will improve existing skills and develop new ones. The lessons will emphasize sportsmanship, skill technique, hard work, and fun in a team atmosphere. Learn skills such as passing, hitting, setting, and serving. A variety of evenings and locations are available each season! (For ages 9-14) 

 ·         Volleyball Performance Workshop (Late Winter through Early Spring)

Instruction provided by Coach Mike Bossom, Goucher College’s Head Volleyball Coach. Players will have fun while learning new skills, playing scrimmages and preparing for the spring season. Instruction includes passing, setting, serving, hitting and blocking, the basics of team play, offense and defense. Prerequisite: Players must have participated in the Volleyball Skills Development.  (For ages 10-15)

·         Volleyball Preseason Training (Summer only) Hitter

Get ready for try-outs and make the team by training with us! Athletes will go through training sessions that cover all skills and provide the most extensive and well rounded training experience. Training will vary from specific individual skills, competitive game drills, and exclusive conditioning sessions provided by Axis Sport Performance.  Fee includes a t-shirt, instruction, and conditioning. (For ages 14-18)

·         Advanced Volleyball Clinic (Fall only)

Join the elite coaches from the CVC (Columbia Volleyball Club) for this advanced clinic.  This elite clinic is for girls who are interested in fine tuning their skills to assist in playing in their future club volleyball and high school seasons.  You will learn from the top coaches in Howard County, don’t miss out! (For ages 10-14)

·         Meadowbrook Volleyball League (Winter, Spring & Fall)

Experience the excitement and gain the skills necessary to enjoy this popular Olympic sport. Players will be placed on teams formed by the League Coordinator and will practice once per week on a weeknight and play 1 hour matches on Sundays. This program is designed for intermediate/advanced players to enhance existing skills and develop new ones. Fee includes a team shirt. Children of volunteer head coaches receive a discount. (For ages 10-16) 

·         MVL Summer League (Summer)

Don’t want to stop playing?! Join us for an exciting summer league! This league was designed for players who just want to play; instruction is limited and basic volleyball skills are required. Individual players will be placed on teams formed by the League Coordinator; team registrations are accepted (no more than 10 players per roster). Teams will have two practices and 5 scheduled matches; practices and matches will last one hour on the designated night at Meadowbrook Athletic Complex. Fee includes a team shirt. (For ages 10-18) 

Camps

·         Volleyball Academy with Ofer Levy (Spring Break and Summer) Setter

Our goal is to stimulate a love for the game in novice to experienced players.  Instruction will develop fundamental passing, setting, hitting, blocking and serving skills. Through a variety of drills and game play, players will learn the basics of team play, offense and defense.  Instruction provided by Ofer Levy and staff, experienced volleyball officials and high school volleyball coaches. (for ages 9-15)

·         Performance Volleyball with Mike Bossom (Summer only)

Instruction provided by Coach Mike Bossom, Goucher College’s Head Volleyball Coach. Novice to experienced players can have fun while learning new skills, playing scrimmages and preparing for the fall, winter and high-school seasons. Instruction includes passing, setting, serving, hitting and clocking, the basics of team play, offense and defense. Before joining Goucher’s coaching staff, Coach Bossom was head coach of the girl’s volleyball team at Centennial High School in Ellicott City. During his 12 seasons there, he guided the Eagles to 214 wins and eight state championships, including 5 consecutive titles. Fee includes tee shirt. (For ages 10-18)

·         Volleyball Elite with Columbia Volleyball Club (Summer only) This camp is designed to bring players to their highest level in volleyball as an individual and as a team. The focus is on both individual skill and quickly advances to team play. Campers grouped according to ability and experience. Coaches strive to challenge and help improve players in a positive and motivating atmosphere with an emphasis on teamwork. Developing the mechanics, the right move and execution are emphasized. Instruction provided by CVC Coaches and Alumni. The club is based in Howard County and has worked with players from the surrounding counties for 27 years. Prerequisite: minimum of 2 years experience to register for camp the week of July 15. Fee includes tee shirt. (For ages 10-18)
