SENATORS FALL SHORT OF CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

2010 SEASON COMES TO AN END IN SEMI-FINALS
.
The 2010 Haymarket Senators finished first in the VBL regular season, but could not close the door on the Front Royal Cardinals in the semi-final best of three series.  After taking Game 1, the Nators fell to the Cardinals in two straight eliminating them from the playoffs short of the Chamionship Series.  We would like to thank all of our sponsors, host families, volunteers, fans, coaches, and players for a great 2010 season.  The 33 wins in 2010 were the most in Senators history, and we are very proud of our team!  We will miss each and every one of them, and wish them the best as they head back to school and fall baseball.  The 2011 season is just around the corner, so please stay up to date with all the latest Senators news on the website or on Facebook by becoming a Fan of the Haymarket Senators.

The Haymarket Senators fell to Front Royal 6 - 5 in 11 innings last night forcing a deciding Game 3 at Haymarket tonight.  The Senators came back three times to tie the game, only to fall in the 11th.  Matt Benedict (7 - 2, 2.13 ERA) takes the mound for the Senators who try to advance to the Championship series for the second year in a row.  The Luray Wranglers advanced to the finals last night beating Winchester in Game 3 of their series.  Due to the rainouts earlier in the playoffs, the VBL has been forced to change the finals from a best of five to a best of three series.  Come out tonight and support your Senators and Nators Nation!!
