Hawks Baseball 2009...BELIEVE and YOU will ACHIEVE!!!!!
News: Semifinal game
Litchfield 11 Hawks 3
The Hawks took an early lead 3-0 in this game only to watch the Litchfield undefeated team roar back and take the lead 4-3 in the fourth. Walks seemed to be undoing of the Hawks in this matchup, 13 were issued. Big hits were delivered by Corey, Paul, Mike and Primo in the 3 run third inning.
Mike and Primo had two hits on the day, while Nate continued his fine play behind the plate and had two walks in the game. Ethan made a great throw from deep in the outfield to the plate in the fifth and just missed nailing the runner. Connor did a fine job pitching giving up only 3 hits in the first four innings.
Coaches Flaherty and Mailloux were pleased with the improvement in the squad over the last part of the year. Best of Luck next year team.
**************************************************************
Prior to the game the team presented a cash gift to the player from Litchfield who was burned out of his home several weeks ago. We are proud of the boys for doing this.
**************************************************************
Awards banquet is Wednesday June 10th. Notices were sent home advising each player of what they were responsible to bring. Hope to see you there.

Championship Final:
Hawks 50 Weare 45
The Hampstead Middle School Hawks finished their 2008-2009 season in style defeating Weare Middle School 50-45. The Hawks took the early lead at the half 34-19 and then watched as Weare slowly crept back into the game. Weare closed it to one point, 46-45 with several minutes remaining. Justin Sandberg was fouled several times and sank all four free throws for the final of 50-45.
Leading the Hawks were Justin Sandberg, Nate Beede, Cam Welsh, Mike Thomson, and Corey Winship. Ethan Howland and Mike Smith contributed greatly off the bench for the win. The playoff showed the important role that Scott Evans played to the team's overall cohesiveness. Team members included: Andrew Lechner, Connor Kwiecien, Andrew Wentworth, Josh Gallant, Paul Karamoutoupolos, Connor Leppzer, and managers Mike Stanton and Josh.
The Team finished their season with a 19-1 record overall and had a Third unblemished record in Tri County play with a 14-0 record. This is the first time a Hawks Basketball Team has won Four consecutive Tri County championships. The team also won the Turkey Classic back in November.

Hawks win Tri-County Title with 5-2 win over Litchfield........
The Hampstead Middle School Hawks rode Nick Pica's arm to a convincing 5-2 victory over the Litchfield. Pica struck out 17 and had three hits in leading the Hawks to the victory.
The HMS Baseball Team Defeated Litchfield yesterday 5-2 to capture the Tri-County Class M Championship. Nick Pica pitched the complete game allowing only 2 hits and striking out 17. Playing well defensively for the Hawks were Shane Whitehouse, Scott Evans, Gavin Anderson, and Andrew Curran. Offensively the team was led by Nick Pica and Kevin Colbert with 3 hits, and Matt Dennehy and Trevor Franquiz who kicked in with key singles. The Team would like to thank all of those who came to their two playoff games. It was nice to know so many people were rooting us on. Thanks….

Hawks Get ThreePeat...Win Tri-County Championship
Championship Final:
Hawks 47 Litchfield 42
The Hampstead Middle School Hawks finished their season in style as they defeated Litchfield 47-42. The Hawks took the early lead at the half 24-5 and then watched as Litchfield slowly crept back into the game and eventually took the lead with 1:27 left in the game. Litchfield scored again to make the score 42-38 when the Hawks began their comeback. They made three steals and converted on three free throws to score the last 9 points of the game to win 47-42. Leading the Hawks were Sean Smith, Kevin Colbert, Shane Whitehouse, Justin Sandburg, and Peter Field. Nick Pica's solid play and Kyle Evan's late foul shot were keys to the overall team victory.
The Team finished their season with a 26-1 record overall and had a second unblemished record in Tri County play with a 14-0 record. This is the first time a Hawks Basketball Team has won three consecutive Tri County championships. The 26 wins represents a new record for wins in a single season. The team also captured two other Tournament crowns winning the Turkey Classic back in November, and the January Jam at Central Catholic in January.
Going back three championship seasons show some interesting statistics. The team has now won 33 consecutive Tri-County league games and has an overall record of 67-4 in the last three seasons.
Last Three Seasons:
Tri-County Records: 40-1 (13-1, 14-0, 13-0) 3 Championships
Overall Records: 67-3 (23-1, 18-2, 26-1)
Congratulations to all team members.

Hawks Capture Turkey Classic Tournament
HAMPSTEAD HAWKS TURKEY CLASSIC CHAMPIONS
Justin Sandberg hit a huge 3 pointer with 4.7 seconds left in the game to propel the Hampstead Hawks to a seemingly impossible Turkey Classic Championship 46-44. This game was amazing in that the Hawks hit on 27 of 30 free throws to overcome an early 7 point deficit. Because of the Double-elimination format the Hawks were forced to play and win 5 games on Saturday in order to capture the crown. They did so in fine fashion culminating with two huge wins over Pelham 50-46 and 46-44.
Here are the results of the Hawks games:
Game 1 Pelham 46 Hawks 45
Game 2 Hawks 46 Hood 19
Game 3 Hawks 32 Epping 15
Game 4 Hawks 57 St. Joe's 43
Game 5 Hawks 50 Pelham 46
Game 6 Hawks 46 Pelham 44
Thanks to all the parents and friends who helped make this a great Tournament. Congratulations to the Hawk's Girl's Team who also captured the Championship.

HAMPSTEAD HAWKS "RULE" THE ROOST!! FINISH TRI-COUNTY SEASON UNDEFEATED 2006-2007
The Hampstead Middle School Hawks finished their regular season 12-0 in Tri-County play, and finished with two playoff victories to complete a perfect 14-0 Tri-County record. This is the first undefeated boy's basketball team in a very very long time. The team actually has won 20 straight Tri-County games in a row going back to last season's 13-1 Tri-County season. Overall the team was 18-2.
The Hawks completed their Back-2-Back Championship with a strong performance against an ever improving Cawley Middle School team. Hooksett played strong but never held the lead in the game. They came close tying things up in the final minute, at 56 all. Led by the consistent performance of their starters...Conor Bell, Ryan Williams, Brendan Sullivan, Peter Field, and Kevin Colbert, the Hawks kept the lead most of the game. Nick Lewis, Adam Cole, and Jesse provided some needed lifts in the game. Peter Field's two clutch foul shots proved to be the winning difference. Brendan Sullivan's clutch rebound and put back had given the Hampstead Hawks a seemingly insurmountable 6 point lead. Hooksett came down the floor and hit for three making the game within reach again. They were unable to recover and Hampstead was left standing with a hard fought victory.
Last two seasons: Tri-County record: 27-1 (13-1, 14-0) overall: 41-3 (23-1, 18-2)
