Hattiesburg Black Sox Semi-Pro Baseball Club: Black Sox History

Sox win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Sox have come away with the title and are still swinging. Sunday's contest was nothing but a bad day for the Meridian Braves. Corey Jackson led off with a single, Kevin Kelly walked, CEO ABY hit a single which drove in the first run and all of a sudden we scored five runs quickly in the first inning. Corey Jackson went 2-3, Kevin Kelly went 2-4 Brett Conerly went 3-5 with the tournament home run title, Mike "Griff" went 2-4,Steven Hayes had 2 hits, J G went 4-5 and the big catcher "Sherm" went 1-1, they walked him 5 times, and of course the "Hitmaster CEO ABY was 3-5". Josh O'Flynn threw a 1 hitter through eight, he was untouchable, the final score was Sox 17, Meridian 1. "this tournament has shown me what we are capable of for years to come" says owner Trey Aby. G.M. Pat "Cousin P" Kelly said "We beat the brakes off that team, they couldn't stop us". Sox are getting ready for next year, there will be a team party on the corner of Canal and Bourbon this weekend to celebrate the win. Spring traing will be held in march, and we will begin to become even better than our 31 wins and 6 loss record. We will add to a few needs, but not many as we have a team for the future and the present. Sox field is being reconstructed and will be able to play on by Jan. 1,2004. With a new look but the same attitude that makes us what we are now. Keep checking back for new updates every week, new pics will be added from the field in Palmers Crossing. Team awards will go out in the next few weeks.

Sox games will be on internet next year
For anyone who can't make it to the park in Palmers crossing next year, all Sox games will be on the internet next year."This gives us coverage to just about anybody across the U.S.", says owner Trey Aby. This is big for us because it will let anyone who can't attend the games be able to listen to the Sox and also if the visiting team has anyone that wants to know about them they can listen to.
