November 14, 2009: SoCal Ocean Racing Series: La Jolla Shores Invitational
"I'm getting this out a little late, but I wanted to congratulate the Hanohano Men that came out Saturday for the La Jolla Shores race.  Great job Nick, Andy, DJ, Landon, and John.  Especially great job to Les and Rich who doubled-up competing in both the long and short courses.  (Great job to the Hanohano ladies that raced as well.) "Hanohano women once again dominate the OC-2 division placing 2nd and 3rd in the short course ( Cyndy and Terri showing Andrea and Allison that experience counts).  Mary Kay won the OC-2 long course  with Lanakila's Jill Schooler who was filling in for a sick Suzanne. On the OC-1 Leslie Mendez won the short course and Kare had a great run on the long course. It was a Glorious day! :-)" - Coach Suzanne Serafin

The Hanohano women placed 23 out of 84 crews in the 42 mile race from Molokai to Oahu.
