Caroline Boal and Andrea Wilson have been selected in the Country Victorian under 18 State team to contest the Nationals in July another South Gippsland player Jamie Lee Jeffs has been named emergency for the team.

Hampton girls at Werribee Tournament
The Hampton 16's travelled to Werribee for a weekends match practice.The side minus two of their point guards played seven games in two days with Chelsea and Holly playing in the same tournament for their home association Sale. The match practice was invaluable with players being able to sort themselves out and become comfortable in their roles. Adding this to Chelseas great game on Friday the team is beginning to Gel
Memorable moments on the weekend included Janis's ballistic minute to sink Bendigo.
Jasmines demolition of Ballarat. The team effort 18 zip in three minutes against Werribee Coutney's continuing war against the Warnambool centre Cindy's great game against a hot shooting Sale side. Laura's great shooting in the final and Ella's rediscovery as a shooting forward again in the final.The team won well in the final but more importantly are starting to discover themselves.

Korumburra Secondary College State Champions again
The year 8 KSC team has done it again winning the state schools final two years in a row. Hampton players Ella and Janis were again involved . More details to come later
Leongatha 16 boys 18 girls win Bairnsdale Tournament
A thrown together Leongatha team of under 18 girls fought their way through the Bairnsdale tournament winning four games by 2 point including the final in which they reversed an earlier 12 point loss against Churchill outstanding performances by Bickel and Wiggins in the final and a great all round debut by Ebony Best showed the depth in Leongatha's players at this age group.
The 16 boys romped through the Tournament winning it as a group for the third time
Good performances by the regulars and some top play from Peter Harris giving Coach Dowd reason to smile as the depth of his side increases.
The Leongatha Lightning under 18 Girls have done it again. On the weekend they recovered from a first game loss to defeat Bendigo in the final . A slow start in the final game was not enough to hold these winners back. Congratulations to Kelly Wilson on her last game in lightning colours and her all Australian selection.

The Morwell girls finished their Tasmanian adventure with a win and ninth place overall

Leongatha Under 18s win at Moe
The Leongatha Under 18 girls team marched through the Moe tournament reversing an earlier loss by Defeating Moe by two points in the final
Mirboo Nth defeated by Ballarat at future stars
The Mirboo Nth girls won their first future stars match defeating long time rivals Traralgon by six but were then defeated by the tall Ballarat side and now play off for classification after finishing third in a three way tie

The Poowong panthers under 16 Girls made the division 3 Grand final on the weekend defeating Traralgon in the semi final and going down narrowly to Churchill in the final.
Korumburra Girls under 18's also made the grand final losing to Wangaratta

Congratulations to Mirboo North's Belinda Snell who has now made the Australian Womens Basketball Team for the Asian Championships.

Sydney Youth Olympics
Three South Gippsland Girls, Andrea Wilson, Caroline Boal and Kelly Wilson attended the Sydney Youth Olympic Festival where they played in the gold medal game at the Sydney Superdome. Unfortunately like the opals The Country Victorian team were not quite good enough at the end going down to Vic Metro.
Silver is not a bad colour however and the girls played some great ball along the way to get to the final. The defeated NT, ACT, NSW metro and , bronze medalists ,NSW country
