Do the Hustle...
The Halloween Hustle, that is!
Put on your costume, bring your friends and family, and come on out for a morning of races and fun!
The 3rd Annual Halloween Hustle 2008 will kickoff at historic St. James Episcopal Church and Academy in Monkton, Maryland on Saturday, October 18, 2008.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The 5K/2 mile walk will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by the Trick or Treat Trot kids races at 10:30 a.m.
You are welcome to bring picnics and lawnchairs to enjoy the morning's activities. This is a rain or shine event so please plan accordingly. Ample free parking is available.
Course Information:
The 5K course is a loop around the historic St. James campus on Monkton, Old York and Markoe Roads. The Trick or Treat Trot kids races, costumed fun runs for children age 10 and under, will be held on the St. James campus. There will be multiple kids' races ranked by ages and number of participants. The Family Fun Walk is a 2 mile walk that will be an out and back course along the 5K course.
Benefits:
Originally organized as a way to remember Benjamin Huxtable, whose life was tragically cut short in 2005, the Halloween Hustle has turned into a celebration of the lives of countless children in and around the Baltimore area. All the proceeds from the Halloween Hustle will benefit the construction of a community playground at the future Jacksonville Park in Phoenix. "Our Children's Playground" will be built in cooperation with the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks and will be in memory of all children who have left us too soon.
Participant Fundraising:
Join the $100 Club! The Halloween Hustle's all-volunteer race committee is challenging all race participants to raise $100 in addition to entry fees. Ask others to sponsor your participation. Simply collect your pledge money and turn it at the registration table on race day. Be sure to check with your employer about matching gift programs that could double your fundraising efforts.
Purchase a Pumpkin:
Special pumpkins can be purchased in memory of a loved one. The pumpkins will be display at St. James on Race Day. Each pumpkin will cost $10 and is yours to keep after the race. Please note the name of the person you wish to honor on the registration form.
Cap It Off:
Show your support for the Halloween Hustle by purchasing a Do The Hustle baseball cap for only $10. Pre-order it on the registration form and pick it up on Race Day. A limited number will also be available at the Race.
Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded for best race times and best costumes in various age categories.

If you would like to make a donation to "Our Children's Playground", please make a check payable to "MOMS Club" and send it to PO Box 508, Phoenix, MD 21131-0508. Please make checks payable to MOMS Club. All donations go directly to the playground fund. We thank you for your support.

Registration Fees:
Race registration for the 5K/2 mile walk is $30 per person. All participants will receive official Halloween Hustle t-shirts and goody bags on the day of the race. Registration for the Trick-or-Treat Trot is $10 for children ages 10 and under. Children registered for the Trick-or-Treat Trot are welcome to participate in the Family Fun Walk as well.
How to register:
To register using a credit card, click "register here" to the left and follow directions. To register by check, print the form found under 'registration information" and mail to the MOMS Club (address to the left).
ONLINE REGISTRATION ENDS AT MIDNIGHT ON 10/17.
MAIL-IN REGISTRATION FORMS MUST BE POSTMARKED BY 10/14.
Limited registration will be available on-site for an additional fee of $10, using check or cash.
Race Packet Pick-up:
If you have pre-registered, please note that there will be early pickup of race materials at Pulse Health and Fitness Club http://www.pulsehealthandfitness.com. Pick up will be on Thursday, October 16th and Friday, October 17th from 5 AM to 6:30 PM. Goody bags, race bibs and t-shirts will be available at the front desk for pre-registered racers. For those who cannot pick up their packet at Pulse Heath and Fitness Club, please come to "Check-in" table on Saturday to receive your t-shirt and goody bag. All Trotters will received their goody bags and t-shirts on Race Day.
