COLUMN: 2008 NWB HALL OF FAME INDUCTION FORM The application for induction into the NWB Hall of Fame was recently revised, and although the basic document remains intact with relevant information requested, the form itself was reduced and improved. Essentially, it is much easier to complete and fewer statistics are required. Eligibility requirements remain unchanged, and the due date annually is any time by September 30 for that specific year. Applicants (or sponsors) complete the application and prepare a written nomination statement (1-2 pages). Currently, this is the accepted method by which to provide a nomination. The website contains instructions and the new application, which may be either printed and submitted by regular mail (preferred) or copied and transmitted by email. NWB Hall of Fame Website http://www.eteamz.com/hallfame Form-Induct (Induction Nomination) http://www.eteamz.com/hallfame/news/index.cfm?cat=49764 There have been 25 baseball players approved for induction over several years. Names are listed in the masthead above. The website contains details, dates, stories, and photos. In addition to annual induction, the NWB Hall of Fame also offers annual MVP awards (player, manager, or coach) through a process conducted without an application. Recommendations are received from a manager, coach, or team. This process remains unchanged, and the website contains more information.
