UPPER DAUPHIN-Seth Landgraf-WRESTLER OF THE MATCH
The 06-07 is under way. The Wildcats opened with Upper Dauphin on Thursday evening. Minus the forfeits the Wildcats held their own. In a tight match at 189, Seth Landgraf in his first varsity match as a sophomore, edged out Upper Dauphin's Snyder at the buzzer. Taking everything into consideration Seth, as tired as he was, showed heart in getting an escape with :05 seconds remaining in the match. Anyone that wrestles knows there is a point in the match mentally where you decide to hang it up or go on. Seth decided to go on and pulled out the win 7-6 for his first varsity win.

LINE MTN.-Tyler Enders-WRESTLER OF THE MATCH
For the second match in a row Tyler Enders pick up a FALL for the Wildcats. Ty is now 2-0 in his senior year. Some things are different the year? Isn't this the same Tyler that has wrestled 189 for the past two years. Yep, wonder if he likes losing those pounds? Probably not, but the team needed him at 171 and that is where he is and looking a lot stronger. Against Line Mountain he hit his patented move for the FALL against Shingara at 1:40.

MIDD-WEST-Daryl Lahr-WRESTLER OF THE MATCH
Daryl Lahr went out and put Richard's of Midd-West away in :50 of the first period. Wrestling his 2nd varsity match he was to get a forfeit, but the Mustangs opted to bump up Richards to challenge Lahr. Daryl responded and tighten a headlock up for his first varsity win.

JUNIATA-D.J. Simmons-WRESTLER OF THE MATCH
For the second year in a row D.J. was the only wrestler to win a match in a dual meet. Last season he prevented the shut out against Line Mountain and again this season against Juniata. An accomplishment I'm sure he wish's he did not have, but one that goes to his character. It seems like D.J. has been wrestling forever and now in his senior season he posts a perfect 9-0 record thus far. No one deserves the recognition more than D.J., as he has put everything possible into this sport and loves and respects the sport for what it is. Hard work, dedication, conditioning, and the will to compete, all attributes that a wrestler must have, if they want to achieve certain goals in this sport. HARRISBURG-Eric Miller-WRESTLER OF THE MATCH
On a night where there were a lot of exciting match's and FALLS, the Halifax wrestlers were all looking for the FALL and deserve credit. One of the early FALLS was by Eric Miller at 152. Bumping up a weight to take on Harrisburg's Sam Branch Eric wasted little time as he got the takedown and put in a turk ride and shot a deep half for the FALL at :54. In his senior year Eric has seen a lot of mat time for the Wildcats. Eric has been in the line-up for the past 3 years. He has always been a team player and has made sacrifices for the team. NEWPORT-Eric Miller- WRESTLER OF THE MATCH
For the second match during the week, Eric Miller is selected as wrestler of the match. Eric, wrestling Newport's Tyler Eisenhart got a 3rd period takedown to increase the margin of victory to 10-6. Takedowns have become the most important aspect of this sport over the past decade. More match's are won and lost on your feet than on the mat. Not something this webmaster particularly likes, but a reality of the sport. Eisenhart was ranked at 145 earlier in the season, so Eric's win puts him at #6 in the District III rankings at 145 lbs. WILLIAMS VALLEY-Tanner Prouse-WRESTLER OF THE MATCH
Tanner went out against William Valley's Murray and took it to him. He scored on a takedown and started workin a half from the top. He was stopped on a illegal full nelson call around 1:00 into the match. Tanner knowing the half was working from the top, again put it in after the stoppage. He then worked in a thigh prye, with the half which worked much better and got the FALL at 1:14.

Mt. CARMEL-Damian Palmer-WRESTLER OF THE MATCH
For the second time in 5 days Palmer and Wondoloski wrestled, with Damian coming out on top in both meetings. Damian MD Wondoloski for 3rd place at the Schuylkill League tournament on Saturday and defeated Wondoloski again during the dual meet on Wednesday 9-4. With the score closer the second time around, Palmer was again victorious. As we have mentioned prior, anytime wrestlers face each other more than once, they become familiar with each others style, thus it becomes more difficult to duplicate wins by the same margin. Often times, the results get closer each time they wrestle. Damian boosts a 16-6 record as a sophomore and continues to improve each season. Good Luck the rest of the way !!! EAST JUNIATA-Dustin Ramberger-WRESTLER OF THE MATCH
For any freshman competing at the varsity level it is very difficult. Most freshman compete at the lower weights, especially in the AA schools to fill the line-ups. Dustin competing at 152 has wrestled mostly junior's and seniors. At any level in this sport (elementary through senior high) the age difference is huge. Not all kids understand that in this sport you must pay your dues, before your reap the rewards. Dustin is becoming a better all around wrestler through is freshman season. His hard work and dedication was evident against East Juniata's Brandt as he picked up the FALL at the 5:14 mark.

JIM THORPE-Tyler Enders-WRESTLER OF THE MATCH
Tyler increased his record to 14-5 with a 2-0 day against Jim Thorpe and Panther Valley. Against Jim Thorpe Tyler took on Shane Parent and recorded the decesion 9-5 and against Panther Valley he recorded a FALL against Casey Williams. Tyler continues to improve over last seasons record of 8-17 and looks to carry the momentum into the post season, and is looking to join that 20 win club.

PANTHER VALLEY-Ryan Belack-WRESTLER OF THE MATCH
In a historial match (Coach Masser's 300th win) Ryan Belack came through big. With the CATS leading (27-24) Ryan put Panther Valley's O'Gurek away at the 4:17 mark. Halifax was down big after the 152 lbs. bout (3-24), but starting at 160 lbs. with D.J. Simmons through 103 lbs. Damian Palmer the CATS recorded 5 FALLS and one forfeit to put the match away and give Coach number 300. Great Job guys !!!!!!!

On a Saturday where match's were hard to come by and forfeits prevailed, Dwight went 2-0 on the day, recording FALLS in both match's. Dwight clamped Holman from Mahanoy in just :58 seconds. To date Dwight has 15 victories this season looking to get into the 20 win club. Dwight is steadily improving as the season draws close to the end and looks to improve on his preformance in the post season this year.

Well, there is a first time for everything. Why not a wrestler of the match that was awarded TWO forfeits in one day???? and runnning his record to 22-0 this season, thus far. Can't say this webmaster likes doing it, but due to lack of bouts I saw it only fitting to do this FIRST with D.J.. Why? Hey D.J. never ducked anyone in his High School career. That said, Mahanoy and Schyulkill Haven were doing the ducking, especially the latter, which I will not comment on. Now that I have that off my chest, don't expect a duplicate of this award to happen anytime in the forseeable future. Below we always use the word EFFORT in the disclaimer, not much effort on this day D.J., but just add TWO in the win column.

SUSQUENITA-Dwight Hentz-WRESTLER OF THE MATCH
Well, for the third time this season the webmaster selection for wrestler of the match was one that was pretty simple. Dwight recorded the lone HEAD TO HEAD win against Susquenita. The Blackhawks came out and challenged the CATS. Dwight was down 2-0 to Susquenita's Wagner early. He later got the reversal and the FALL at the 2:23 mark of the 2nd period.
