2007 Elementary Awards
The 2006-2007 season came to an end at the Halifax Elementary wrestling banquet on Sunday 3/4/07. The season started in November of 2006 and all elementary wrestlers received a participation trophy to reward them for their hard work during the season. For some of the wrestlers it was their first award and you could see how happy they were to receive their first wrestling trophy. For others it was just another step in their progress. The season was long and hard and almost all wrestlers went to tournaments throughout the season. Success at this level is not measured with win's but rather the experience they gather while wrestling. Learning the moves and then applying them in a real match is the goal. All the coach's felt this group achieved those results. Below are some other awards present to recognize those who over achieved.
Robert Moretz (6th grade) and Tyler Bordner (6th grade) Commitment Award. Both have wrestled in the elementary program for 6 years and will move on to the Jr. High next season.
