Welcome to the official website of the 2009 Halifax Youth Baseball (HYB) program. It is our intention to utilize the HYB website to communicate on a regular basis to our coaches, players and parents during the year.
The principle goal of Halifax Youth Baseball is to provide the youth of Halifax the opportunity to have fun playing the sport of baseball. Good sportsmanship, exercise and skill development in baseball are other goals of HYB. HYB is affiliated with Cal Ripken Baseball (a division of Babe Ruth Baseball), for our players ages 5-12. HYB is affiliated with Babe Ruth Baseball, for players ages 13-15 in association with Kingston Youth Baseball & Softball League (KYBSL).
We look forward to another outstanding baseball season. Opening Day (April 26th) is only a few months away so continue to check this website for updates as coaches, players and teams begin preparations for the 2009 season.

Halifax Youth Baseball/Silver Lake High School Baseball Fall Developmental ClinicSundays September 20, 27, October 4, 11, 18Halifax Elementary School 10:00am-12:00noonClinic Fee: $50.00 Silver Lake HS varsity baseball coach Ken Tocci along with Silver Lake players will coordinate a 5-week baseball clinic for local youth between the ages of 7-12 (as of April 30, 2010) with the focus on improving players on the fundamentals of baseball (hitting, fielding, base running, throwing, pitching, catching). Each week will focus on a specified area and Coach Tocci and his players will work with players through designated drills and group work.Participants will be grouped by age and playing ability so Coach Tocci can plan drills that will directly improve the players’ ability and confidence in their overall baseball fundamentals for the upcoming 2010 spring season. New HYB Board Members Needed for 2010
The Halifax Youth Baseball Board of Directors are looking for new members for the 2010 season. Currently there are 7 openings on the HYB Board. The positions are: Treasurer, League Clerk, Fundraising Coordinator, Director of Procurement, Tee Ball Coordinator, Junior League Coordinator, and Senior League Coordinator. Note to all current and new HYB coaches: Our chartering organization (Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Baseball) now requires all coaches successfully complete the Cal Ripken coaching certification test.
