Saturday, August 8 HOMETOWNHOCKEY.COM Saturday, March 7 Coach and Trainer Clinics
Coaching clinics and trainer clinics are scheduled for the 2009-2010 season. If you would like to become a coach or need re-certification it is a good idea to book ASAP and not to leave it to the last minute when the season starts. Refresher Clinics fill very fast. If you have taken any programs that qualify under the OMHA Continuing Education Program (CEP) you can send you passport to Susan Campbell at the OMHA office with applicable fee to have your number updated. More information on the OMHA CEP program is available here.
If you are a level one trainer who is currently expiring, you can now take a trainer refresher or take a first aid course and upgrade to level two . If you ticket has expired previous to 2008 you have to re-take the trainer course. If you are a level two trainer, you need to refresh your first aid (must be Standard First Aid, not Emergency) and advise the OMHA that you have done so to update your trainer number. More information on the OMHA Trainers Certification is available here. OMHA Develpment Downloads Coaches check out the information available for download from the OMHA. It's simple, if your not having fun coaching then chances are your players aren't either. Players will develop quicker and reach higher levels if they enjoy your coaching. This does not infer that you don't work them hard. You and your players can still have fun while working very hard. A true indication of a fun and productive practice is when the players leave the ice dripping with sweat and brimming with a smile.
