Welcome to the site of the Tyke Twisters. We are all looking forward to a very exciting season, filled with lots of fun and learning.

Since players at this age are young, it is important for everyone to keep their expectations in perspective. What players learn first they learn best. The Initiation Program will be used in practices to teach the players basic technical skills, an introduction to the rules of hockey, and how to work together as a team.

This season we will have two tyke teams. Throughout the season they will play 14 games in the Georgian Bay Triangle Local League. They will also be hosting a Tyke tournament in early January.

During practices learning will be based on the Canadian Hockey Initiation Program. This program encourages fun, while learning skills and developing confidence.

If parents have any questions at any time, they are encouraged to ask the coaches.

Both of our Tyke teams have had a strong start to the season with lot`s of smiling kids on and off the ice.  Coaches have seen remarkable improvement in all players and it will only continue to get better.

Be sure to join us on December 30, 2012 as Tyke 1 hosts Tyke 2 at 4:00 pm in Grand Valley.  We are also hosting a tournament on January 4, 2013 so be sure to come out to the rink and cheer on the athletes!

Tyke 1 rebounded with a win in Angus on Saturday after two hard fought losses at our home tournament on Friday in Grand Valley.

Jack M started off the scoring and got his first goal of the season, other goals followed by Austin W (2), Carter B and Andrew C.(2)  In net was Charley L who stopped all but one puck for a 6-1 win over Essa. Our defensemen played a strong game and kept the puck out of the danger zone just like the coaches asked!
