Grand Valley is a small community of 1600 located on the banks of the Grand River, on Dufferin Road 25 (formerly Hwy 25), 5 minutes north of Dufferin Road 9 (formerly Hwy 9). It is officially part of the township of East Luther Grand Valley. Grand Valley & District Minor Hockey Association provides hockey to players in the town and immediate surrounding area. We offer hockey for players 4 to 17 years, in divisions Mite to Midget. Our centre is classed as a ‘D’ centre with our registration averaging 150 players a year. As a member of the OMHA we support the initiation program for the beginners, OMHA competitive teams from Novice to Midget, and this season have a local league team each in Tyke, Atom, Pee Wee and Midget.  More.

There is nothing better than watching a Twister team play, for they all have commonality in their drive and determination. Always humble victors, gracious in defeat, playing with heart, having fun and loving the game above the prize. Come out to a game or two and see for yourself!

We will be holding registration for the 2012-2013 hockey season on the following dates:

April 15th GVMH Recognition Day

April 24th Annual General Meeting

May 15th Grand Valley Comminity Center 6:30 to 9pm

 Rates will remain the same as last year and registration will only be accepted with payment or post dated payments.

We will be hosting our annual Recognition Day (Awards Day) on April 15 at the Grand Valley Community Centre.

 The following are the times for the teams: 

1:00 pm  - Mites, Tykes and Novice

2:30 pm - Atom, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midgets 

We will be holding registration for the 2012-2013 hockey season.  Registration will only be accepted with payment or post dated payments.

The AGM will be on April 24th at 7:30pm in the board room of the arena. we hope to see everyone there. You will get your $20 AGM fee back at the end of the meeting.

Coaching clinics and trainer clinics are scheduled for the 2011-2012 season. If you would like to become a coach or need re-certification it is a good idea to book ASAP and not to leave it to the last minute when the season starts.

Certification expires after 3 years always on August 31st. Refresher Clinics fill very fast.  If you have taken any programs that qualify under the OMHA Continuing Education Program (CEP) you can send you passport to the OMHA office with applicable fee to have your number updated.  More information on the OMHA CEP program is available here.

Congratulations Midgets!!!

 Our Midget players beat out Thamesford in the semi-finals of the OMHA's and are moving on to the finals against Otonabee.  Way to go Twisters!!!

A big thank you to all those who came out and cheer on 4 former Grand Valley players and their Junior "C" Team, the Erin Shamrocks, as they hosted the Midland Junior "C" Flyers 

The Grand Valley Alumni Players are: Billy Hostrawser, Neil Kwast, Josh Sguigna and Cody Wright.

After the first period our Tyke 1 vs Tyke 2 in a 5 minute scrimmage, much to the kids surprise, the got a little help from Josh, Cody and Billy, who joined them on the ice. It was lots of fun to watch those little guys out there with the big guys who all started the very same way.
