Tee Ball Rules
All games are to be 3 innings in length with both home and visitors getting three at-bats.
All players are to play defensively and offensively in every inning.
All batting is to be continuous, with all team players batting in each inning regardless of outs.
All batters will bat until they put the ball in play either via a pitched ball, or a ball hit off a tee.
Each batter will receive three HITTABLE pitches from a coach. It doesn't matter if the pitch is underhand or overhand; just so the batter can hit the ball. If they foul off the 3rd pitch, they get another pitch until they hit or miss.
In the event that the batter is not able to put the ball in play from 3 pitched balls, they then will hit off the batting tee.
All hit balls must go longer than the 20 foul ball radius arc. If not, it is treated as a foul ball, and the batter will bat again.
Bases are to be 45 feet apart.
No base runners may advance more than TWO bases at one time except in cases where the last batter has hit the ball.
There will be no league standings or wins or losses. This is purely for instructional purposes. Keep this in perspective.
Players will rotate positions from one inning to another. For example, no player will play the same position twice in a game, i.e. Johnny will not be the first baseman for any two innings within the same game.
Due to risk of injury from thrown bats, there will be NO catcher position player.
The last batter is to continue running until they reach home plate, is put-out at a base, or the defensive team has control of the ball at home plate.
Play will end when a defensive player is in control of the ball at home plate while the last batter is running the bases.
Except in cases of injuries, there will be no substitute "pinch" runners.
Base runners are to avoid contact with a player on the other team in order to avoid injuries.
All teams are to purchase and supply trophies/awards for their players at their own expense. None will be provided by GVAA.

Minor League Rules
GVAA MINOR LEAGUE
2000 RULES:

PITCHING:

A pitcher can not appear in more than 6 innings per week (Monday through Sunday). One pitch constitutes appearance in one inning.

Appearance in more than 2 innings in a game requires two (2) days rest before pitching in another game.

Pitchers may not wear white or light grey long sleeved shirts or tattered sleeved shirts.

Only the starting pitcher may re-enter the position of pitcher and that player must have played another field position continuously upon re-entering as the pitcher.

A balk is called but no advancement. A balk call does NOT stop play. If batter hits the ball for a base hit, the hit counts; If the batted ball results in an out, the balk is upheld and the batter returns to bat.

BATTING / BASERUNNING:

You must use a continuous batting order.

A batter is out on the 3rd strike (even if the ball is not caught by the catcher).

A batter must stop on first base on a walk (4th ball) when the pitch is caught by the catcher, thrown and caught by the pitcher.

A batter may advance past first base on a passed 4th ball (not caught by the catcher).

Base runners must remain on the base until the ball crosses home plate.

        Stealing of bases is allowed.

A player shall be warned by the umpire the first time they leave a base early. On the second occurrence, they will be called out. Play does not stop when an infraction occurs. If a batter makes an out, that play stands and the base runner must return to the base from which they started.

A player may advance from any base on a passed ball or on a ball thrown from the catcher back to the pitcher, whether or not it is caught by the pitcher.

OTHER:

10 batter rule applies in innings 1 - 5. In inning 6, play continues until 3 outs are recorded. The coach of the batting team is required to inform the umpire and opposing coach of the 10th batter in each inning.

On the 10th batter, all runners may advance until the ball is cleanly fielded by the catcher and no ensuing play is anticipated. Once the catcher has control of the ball and stands at home plate without an ensuing play, the umpire shall call time and no further advancement of runners is allowed. Play immediately stops once the 3rd out is recorded.

On the 10th batter, a walk with the bases loaded scores the runner from 3rd. When the catcher has possession of the ball at home, the inning is over.

Each player must play 2 full defensive innings in the field.

A 12 run "slaughter rule" is in effect after the losing teams bats in the 4th inning.

An injured player may return to the game and will be inserted into the original spot in the batting order.

All catchers must wear a protective cup during practice and games.

The home team is responsible for all field preparation. Both GVAA teams are responsible for the proper maintenance of the field after the game. Please leave the field ready for another team to use (fill in holes at bases, pitchers mound and the batters box so rain will not accumulate, put bases in shed, etc.)

The home team will occupy the 1st base dugout and the visitors will occupy the 3rd base dugout.

The visiting team will have the field first for a 10 minute pre-game warmup starting 25 minutes prior to game time. The home team will then take the field for a 10 minute pre-game warmup starting 15 minutes prior to game time. After each team warms up, the coaches will meet with the umpire to discuss any specific rules of the day (weather related, etc.) and the game shall begin.

Control of self, team and parents - remember that as head coach, you are responsible for the behavior of all team members, coaching staff and your fans.

Speed of game - do what you can to help move along the game, the shorter the game, the better the attention span of players (help catcher prepare, make sure players know what position they are playing, etc.)
