2008 MASC
For the 3rd year in a row United was the finalist in the MASC. We beat Adidas Premier 3-0, tied Zanesville Arsenal 4-4, beat Zionsville Lighting 6-0. We played Pacesetter Premier(ranked #7 in Ohio) in the final. It was a great effort with them scoring 1st and we followed suit shortly after. The heartbreaker was them getting another goal with less than 2 minutes to go in added time. Great effort ladies.

2007 RECAP
Overall, it was a successful season. We ended up in 2nd in the league. Our record was 6-1-1, scoring 29 goals and giving up 6. Tournaments were tough this season, but we knew they would be as we upped our choices to tougher tournaments.
We were finalists at the MASC. The Warrior had us with a 1-1-1 record and the Creek was a bust with 3 loses. Our overall record was 10-7-2, scoring 46 goals and giving up 24.
We will miss Sara K. as she continues her soccer career at Urbana. She's leaving big cleats to be filled. I look for more of our players to continue on in college. We had at total of 8 colleges interested in some of our ladies.
Brandy has also decided to devote her time to her music, we will miss her and wish her luck.
We are sad to see Marie leave for Chicago, we may just have to go there for a tournament. She added so much to the team with her knowledge of the game and of course her humor! Best of luck!
Thanks to Lisa Kuykendall for being the manager/treasurer, she did a great job again. Thanks also to Frank Gilland for keeping our stats. We picked up 2 new players for the season, Sara G. (little bit) and Kelly H.(Gumby) Both helped the team and we look for more great things. Kelly was injured for a good part of the season and Jena and Stephanie E. struggled with illnesses, hopefully all will be 100% for next year. We have also added Amanda R. to the squad for next year, she played at the Creek with us. She brings a lot to the table The rest of the group has been solid with Tracy racking up the most years on the team at 10. She will be back for next year.
I look forward to the upcoming high school season, I will try and catch at least one of everyones games. I will see J.Lew, Jena, and Katelyn when FT plays Clark and Sara G. and Amanda R. when FT meets up with Reading. And FT scrimmages Roger Bacon so Steph H. and I will cross paths.
So enjoy your summer, work hard in high school ball and we'll get back together in November. I will get revenge at that time for the lovely decorations on my car...

INDOOR IS OVER
We have finished up our indoor leagues. The Saturday 7v7 league had us with a 5-2-1 record, scoring 29 goals with 10 against. Sunday futsal had us winning the league with a 8-1-0 record, scoring 65 goals and having 42 scored against us. I think both leagues will give us a great step towards taking our game outdoors.

UNITED ENDS 2006 SEASON ON A HIGH NOTE
United was very successful in league play for 2006. We ended up with a record of 7 wins, 1 loss, and 0 ties. We scored 24 goals and had 11 scored against us. Our best league season in our 9 year history!
We played in the MASC Tournament, going 3-0 in preliminary play and came in runner up in a 2-1 loss in the championship game. In the Kolping Seth Stevens tournament we posted a 2-1 record. We finished up tournament play at the Creek Classic in the top bracket with a 1-1-1 record. Our 1-0 loss to the Ohio Galaxie Elite team proved that we can play against some of Ohio's finest teams.
Overall our record for the Spring 2006 season was 13 wins, 6 loses, and 1 tie. We scored 47 goals and gave up 24.
Considering we have 10 new players to the team over the last 2 years, and a new assistant coach (Slater aka. Marie) and played up an age group, the girls really came together and played team ball.
I need to thank Marie for adding new life to coaching, she brings a lot to the table. And the parents have been great, the best fans around! Lisa Kuykendall has done a great job as administrator. Chris Cleary as usual has kept great stats and impeccable game reports. Cheryl Cleary was responsible for ordering our uniforms, warm ups and spirit wear, which we purchased through Ty and Lisa Steele at great prices. Gina Williams was the official Goal Bucks collector and kept me up to date on the rising amounts collected and also stood in as our statistician when Chris wasn't there. And to Rusty and Kathy Richardson, thanks for putting the player's profiles together. They turned out great. We had a total of 6 different college coaches attend our games.
And I have to especially thank the girls for the effort and dedication to the team. We have a great group and they have made it fun and interesting....They all pull for each other and genuinely care for each other. It will be fun in the fall to see some of them compete against each other and possibly compete against their club coaches. They are the reason this old women is still coaching!
Way to go United!
