GREINER FASTPITCH

When I saw the ad below for the PFX Tour I was tempted to remove it. I told alot of people at the academy what it was. It was just a money maker for some and a disappointment for everyone else. I have heard alot of comments about it in the last couple of days, gotten emails and seen posts on forums of complaint. I hate to say I told ya so. I have met Dot Richardson on several occasions and find it hard to believe that her goal was to fleece the public of as much money as she could, but from what I have heard that is exactly whats happening around the country. Everyone that loves this sport is afraid to say things publicly about the heroes of our sport. They are afraid to "make things worse". I am going to copy a post below from the Stltoday.com prep sports forum. It kind of sums up what I have been hearing from the St. Louis softball community in the last couple of days. I am glad I didn't fork out any money for this fiasco.

This was the poorest excuse for a tournament I have ever seen. There are more intelligent creatures running around barnyards with their heads chopped off than the people running this fiasco.

It was all about the MONEY-pure and simple. These "pros" played their games like amatuers and the whole thing was a big joke to them. It was similar to an old timers game in baseball where the players are in the inside and the poor suckers footing the bill were on the outside. The way the played I felt like saying young ladies your college days are over-get real jobs. If this is the kind of performance that was supposed to save softball in the Olympics we are better off without it.

I got hit for $60 to bring my family to this mess. The gentlemen from the Espirit was nearly ashamed to take my money--He knew it was a ripoff. Of course some money grubber from PFX was there to make sure they vacuumed every penny that they could out the crowd and much like a bunch of carnies they will hit another town next week and attempt to fleece them.

As if the overpriced merchandise wasn't enough I defy anyone this side of Stephen Hawking to try to decipher that schedule. No formal standings were posted, scores are missing so thank God for the rain because it will take these geniuses all night to try to get this thing right for Monday. I don't give them much of a chance for that, but at least they have another night to try. My D's team has been yanked around four times and it wasn't all weather related.

Teams paid nearly $500 for this nonsense. I am sure a lot of orginazations learned a costly lesson this weekend.

Where were all of the pros on Sunday? The only one there was Dot Richardson hawking how great this tour is. The rest of them took the money from the locals and ran. This definitely was not about "the children",
it was about GREED and deceit. They could have played the girls on Friday night, Saturday during the day, had the "pros" go through the motions about 8:00 on Saturday night and done the same thing Sunday with the PFX players going at night. Of course that would have been about the kids playing and not a bunch of has beens whose glory days have passed them by. They could have finished the tournament on Monday if needed. That would have made too much sense and now girls are disappointed, parents are poorer, coaches are ticked and PFX has disapeared into the dead of night with the sacks of money.

Hey Jim

Your 12U Stingers placed a "Sweet 16" with their phenomenal "Greiner fastpitching" at NSA nationals. Thank you for all you do, and thank you for your continued teaching, support and loyalties to my 14U daughter.

Krush with a K

Hey Jim,

Gabi here. I have a game at 8 in Washington, and sadly living in Kirkwood, I had to get up at 5 am to get ready, we'll leave at 5:30, due to freakin' construction in Eureka, arrive at 7 for practice, game at 8. Ain't a softball schdeule grand?
So, anyway, just was checking out your site and it's pretty awesome. I wanted to thank you for all the support you gave me while I had that rough time with the Marauders, and all the other support through the years. Wow, if you think about it, I've been couped up with for like, 4 years. Haha. =P
See ya soon!
