The GREINER FASTPITCH Team-Of-The-Week for the week of 6/29 is the 12u Southwest Sluggers!!!! The Sluggers did the impossible this past weekend qualifying for the ASA 12u "A" Nationals and did it the hard way at a Qualifier in Moline, IL. The Sluggers were undefeated and looking good when the storms hit Saturday night. As per ASA rules the game they were playing had to be decided by coin toss. The Sluggers lost the coin toss and headed for the losers bracket without having lost a game! To qualify they had to win 5 games back to back on Sunday with no breaks and get into the championship game. Starting at 9:30 am that is exactly what they did! They went 6-1 on Sunday winning the first game in the Championship game and then losing the "if needed" game. 10+ hours of softball with little time in between games.....AWESOME!!!!! Congratulations to GREINER FASTPITCH students Rachel Goff and Fallon Conner. I was there for most of it and had a blast!
If you would like to see your team as "Team of the Week" please email Jim (and send a pic) and nominate them!

USA Olympian Amanda Freed Conducts Clinic at SLBFA!
NPF Professional Player, USA Olympian, All-American from UCLA, and two time California High School Player of the year, Amanda Freed, hosted a Charitable Advanced Skills Softball Clinic at the St. Louis Baseball and Fastpitch Academy on February 10th and it was AWESOME!
Amanda is one of America's most versatile, all-around skilled softball players (excellent Pitcher, fleet-footed outfielder with cannon arm, and an exceptional line-drive hitter and aggressive base-runner).
Topics Amanda covered were: Basic softball mechanics at every position, Strength and Conditioning, Dedication, Balanced Training, Teamwork, Positive Attitude, Heart and Hustle! Her pitching demonstration was amazing!
Amanda is a fabulous Christian role-model and ended up conducting this clinic for free as a contribution to the St. Patrick's Center.
A BIG thanks to Dan Buck for making this happen!

What's Your SPARQ Rating?
WHAT IS SPARQ?
SPARQ stands for Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction and Quickness. SPARQ is committed to helping athletes improve these five aspects of their athletic ability in order to take their game to that next level.
I am convinced that in the future college bound athletes should be tested and be able to back up everything that they show on their resume. SPARQ training does just that. SPEEDBOOSTERS is the only company in the St. Louis area that provides this new service. Professional scouts and college coaches are increasingly using the SPARQ Rating as another indicator of a prospect's overall potential. - JIM GREINER
