Green Hornets Boys' Lacrosse: Welcome

Welcome to the 2014 Green Hornets Boys Lacrosse season. There are a few new and exciting changes you will see with our lacrosse program that you have asked for and we have delivered. This year will be the first year where our club, or select teams, will compete against Baltimore/Washington area club team competition in the Howard County Youth Club Lacrosse League. This will offer our young athletes a chance to compete against a wider area of lacrosse talent. Our teams will be organized by HS graduation year and will be offered for current 3rd through 8th grade players. Our 2nd grade age select team will participate in AA county lacrosse competition. We will continue to offer a full recreational lacrosse program for all our players and those teams will continue to compete in the AA county lacrosse program. These changes mark a significant shift in our organization, and our willingness to make a change that will benefit your player. We will build on our past successes and will continue to offer new programs that fit what our community is asking for. Our goal has not changed. We remain 100% focused on the youth lacrosse player development, teaching lacrosse fundamentals.

PEE WEE: The "Pee Wee" program is open to players as outlined above. The emphasis at the "Pee Wee" level is still instructional. It is the goal of the program to have all teams of equal talent. Games are played with nearly all the normal rules with the exception of modified extra man and man down situations. Games are played throughout the county primarily on weekends and some games during the week, and are refereed by county officials. The season ends with each team participating in the Green Hornet in house Big Dog Tournament. Some teams may also participate in other end of season tournaments around the county.

MIDGET: The "Midget" program is open to players as outlined above. Basic skills are taught to all players and many beginners start playing lacrosse at this level. Green Hornets will field teams to compete in all divisions of play in the county. All aspects of the game are played at this level, with the introduction of man down and extra man play.
