2010 Great Lakes Region Teams return from Cary. NC with an amazing experience.

Quotes from parents, players and coaches.

I wanted to thank each of you again for the time and effort you put into these past several weeks. Joe truly enjoyed the experience and came away a better player and, more importantly, a better young man. My best to the whole coaching staff – you are all excellent at what you do!

Best regards, Joe and Chris Rossi

Pete, just wanted to take a few minutes, on behalf of my family, to let you know how much we enjoyed and appreciated the weekend in Cary. What a wonderful program USABaseball has with this NTIS event. The facility and the program was top-notch. You did an excellent job of communicating prior to and during the event, and went above and beyond to bring value-added events to the Great Lakes players and their families during our too-brief time in Cary. Thank you so much for the opportunity. Greg VanMeter

Peter

Let me start out by saying it was a pleasure seeing you this past week.It was indeed a great experience for myself,my wife and Brandon to beinvolved in all of the first class baseball activities. It wasn't just runprofessionaly, it was run with major league quality. You and yourorganization should be very proud. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to call.

Roger Bossard

Hi Coach… What an incredible weekend in Cary!  As I shared with you while there, I am so impressed with USA Baseball and with our entire coaching staff from the Great Lakes.  Pete, you put a fantastic group together and I want to thank you.  We come away much better for having had this experience. We are more committed than ever to becoming better at baseball and life in general.  I look forward to staying in touch.

KRgds, Bruce Miller

Hello Pete,

We would like to give you warm thanks for giving Josh this wonderful opportunity. We had the time of our life!!! This experience was one that we will cherish forever.

We learned so much from you and the whole coaching staff. The symposium and the meetings that you had with us has very much taught Josh many life lessons. I can't stress how much the talks that you and the other great coaches have given Josh much added wisdom at such a young age! I learned a lot too and after your speeches, we felt so exhilarated. As a parent, given that gift from you men and all of the guidance and direction on the field, I give you my heartfelt thanks!

Richard,  Lauri & Josh Harris

You could not get any better then Coach Hall, Coach Besteman and Coach Ayres, first class all the way. John had the best experience of his baseball career. Thank you for all your hard work into this Pete. It’s an experience John and my family will not forget. John was approached by the USA Baseball Rep yesterday; he talked about a possible shot at the National Team. If he does not make the National Team he would like for him to play for the USA Stars in June. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

Tom Menken

I just wanted to thank you again for all your hard work and time spent with the boy’s this past weekend at the NTIS. Tyler had a GREAT time playing for you guy’s and will remember his experience for a lifetime. As a father who has been coaching and always involved in my son baseball experience, it was great to be able to just sit back and enjoy watching my son play the game he loves from the other side of the fence and just be a parent.

You guys are truly great coaches! Your knowledge of the game as well as your handling of the boy’s was a true pleasure to watch! It’s very difficult for involved parents to let go and put their kid’s future in someone else’s hands but I couldn’t have asked for two better individuals to work with my son Tyler!

Scott J. Halas

USA BASEBALL GEARS UP FOR 2010 NTIS

(DURHAM, N.C.) – For the second year in a row, USA Baseball is proud to present the National Team Identification Series (NTIS) in 2010, once again offering the organization’s most comprehensive evaluation of talent ever in the 13U, 15U and 17U age groups.

As it was in 2009, the 2010 NTIS promises to be one of the most heavily-scouted and premier events of the fall calendar.  The event will consist of three separate age groups and a total of 648 players all competing for a chance to be selected by a 2011 USA Baseball National Team program’s trials.  The event will be held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex and adjoining Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, N.C. from Sept. 10-12, 2010.

  COLLEGE PLAYERS

“We could not have been happier with the success of the inaugural NTIS in 2009,” said USA Baseball Executive Director/CEO Paul Seiler.  “Much of the thanks and credit go to our regional directors – their regional programs have become an important part of identifying the top young baseball players in the country.  Everyone at USA Baseball is excited for the second installment of this great event.”

From the three separate 13U/15U/17U age groups, USA Baseball will name a minimum of eight players to the 2011 18U National Team Trials (18U); a minimum of eight players to the 2011 16U National Team Trials (16U); and a minimum of 24 players to the 2011 14U National Team Trials.  While the NTIS is designed to supplement the existing programming being done at the 18U and 16U age groups, it will constitute the primary identification opportunity for the 14U National Team.

Albert Almora, star of two gold medal-winning 14U National Teams, a member of the 16U National Team and a veteran of the NTIS program, credits the event in helping him bring out the best in his game. “The NTIS was great competition,” Almora says.  “It really gave me something to work for.  There were a lot of kids trying out, so I knew I had to step it up and show what I've got.”

Almora says that the NTIS prepared him for his summers with USA Baseball.  Experiences, he says, that he will never forget.

“It was the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, and I want to continue doing it for the rest of my life.”
