TEAMWORK & FUNDAMENTALS: HOW TO FLY LIKE AN EAGLE The Grassland Golden Eagles program was founded in 2000 to provide northern Williamson County with an opportunity to play football, with an emphasis on teamwork, good sportsmanship and personal effort – all important elements for later in life. Grassland has established a reputation for attracting quality coaches who place an emphasis on safely teaching the fundamentals of the game, and for fielding teams that exhibit discipline and sportsmanship. As a member of the Tennessee Youth Football Association (TYFA), the oldest community football program in the region, Grassland teams play teams from a wide cross-section of communities around middle Tennessee. If you would like to learn more about TYFA, visit TYFA.org. Cheerleading Provides a Big Boost Grassland Golden Eagles Cheerleading is a recreational program that introduces girls to the sport of cheerleading. Our program focuses on developing the confidence, self-esteem and skills of participants in a fun and supportive environment. Parents serving as volunteers are an important part of our experience, complemented by youth cheer coaches – middle school and high school cheerleaders- who serve as role models for our girls. Cheerleaders are placed on cheer teams and participate in Golden Eagles Football teams home and away games during the season, which runs from August to November as part of the TYFA.
