NEW TO LITTLE LEAGUE THIS YEAR?
Here are some helpful hints as to how the season works:
1. Register your child for Little League:Sat., Jan. 19th & Feb. 2nd 10:30 – 2:00 pm
• Decide on your fund-raising option (candy bar sales)
Review volunteer opportunities within the league – there are many ways you can help!
2. Teams are drafted by the managers in early March
3. Team manager will contact you after the draft to introduce himself & let you know what team your child is on
4. Attend Family night / meeting on April 8th - 7pm at the High School Auditorium (Players AND Parents)
• Hear more about how Little League works, etc.
• Players will meet coaches
5. Each team is expected to work in the concession stand. Your team liaison will contact you with the date and times for your team.
6. Team managers will set practice schedule and communicate it to you
• Practices are typically scheduled weekday evenings & some Saturdays
• Rookies and Minors typically begin practicing in May
• Majors and Juniors typically begin practicing in April
7. Game Schedule will be completed and communicated
• Games are played on weekday evenings and some Saturdays
• Rookies and Minors typically play games in June and July
• Majors and Juniors typically play games in May and June
8. Team and individual pictures will be taken in May. More information will come from your team manager
9. Little League night at the Brewer Game: Tuesday, June 17th
• This is a fun experience for each player to go to the game, in uniform, and walk on the field before the game with their team manager in a parade sort of fashion. Teams from other area Little Leagues also participate. It is a fun way to get together for an evening of baseball.
* Bus transportation to the game is included in the price of the ticket.
• More details, including ticket order form will come from your team manager
10. All Star Teams for the Major and Junior leagues will be selected by the end of June. These teams represent Grafton Little League in the District competition held in the middle of July.
11. There is an end of the season “pool party” in August at the Grafton Family Aquatic Center (649 North Green Bay Road).
