REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration for children ages 5 through 12 yrs. begins this week-end at Chief Jo Middle School!!!

GRLL offers many levels of play within our Minors and Majors divisions, designed to offer both age and skill appropriate baseball instruction opportunities for every player.  These levels of play range from a T-ball/Coach Pitch division designed for the youngest beginning players, to the more competitive Majors division for more experienced older players.

Returning players should have received a blank Registration form, with the new GRLL Parent Code of Conduct commitment form printed on the back, inside their GRLL 2010 Newsletter.  Please bring this completed form with you to registration and save valuable time!

(Extra forms will be available on-site during registration)

2010 Participation Fees

Returning families will notice a change in the fee schedule for GRLL Baseball. Due to an increase in expenses for practice time on Richland School District property, we’ve adjusted our registration fees to fairly balance practice facilities and playing schedules between age divisions. All GRLL fees are based on player’s league age. Our traditional GRLL 2-for-1 cards are included in registration fees. (Resell these cards to friends and family to reduce your cost /$5 per card)

More than one player in the family? No problem.

The maximum commitment per household will not exceed $225 and includes 18 GRLL 2-for-1 cards.

League Age   (Player age on 4/30/2010) # Tickets Registration Fee
11-12 years old     10           $125
9-10 years old      8           $100
7-8 years old      6           $85
T-Ball 5-6 years old      0           $40

2010 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

GRLL is still in critical need of several volunteers in order to operate as a healthy league this season.  Please consider helping out in one of the following positions—any questions may be directed to our league president, Kim Betzsold, at 943-4304:

Sponsorship Coordinator - This person is the liaison between GRLL and any current or prospective league sponsors.  Currently we offer both team sponsorships and sign sponsorships to local businesses, and this is a critical source of revenue for the league!  Immediate responsibilities for this person will be to contact all former GRLL sponsors and secure their continued support for 2010.

Concessions Committee Chair – The volunteer is responsible to oversee the inventory and operation of both the Bombing Range and Jefferson concession stands, including scheduling pre-season inspections with the Health Department.  The Board is willing to entertain ANY new ideas pertaining to the improvement of concession stand operations, including turning the staffing of the stands over to a local high school club or other organization.  Regardless of “who” actually works in the stands, league concessions still need to be managed by a committee chairperson, who would report to the Board of Directors.  If this position is not filled prior to the start of the season, there will be NO concessions services during our league games!

Fundraising Director / Auxiliary Committee Chair - This person will oversee all areas of fundraising for the league, and perhaps generate even more fundraising opportunities or other sources of revenue.  We already have a few very reliable methods of fundraising in place, but the Board of Directors would also like to entertain some new ideas--especially given the fact that this year we are going to have to pay the school district in order to use their grass for practice fields!  Regardless of whether or not any new methods of fundraising come about, a single point-of-contact for all the individual committees that generate funds for the league would be very useful.  This volunteer will obviously work closely with the league president, treasurer, public relations chairperson and team representatives.  We have never filled this position in our league before, but it is at the top of the league president’s “wish list” this year!

Minor League Coordinators - One coordinator from each level of the Minors Division (AAA, AA, A and T-ball) is needed to serve as members of the Minor League Committee, which will be chaired this season by Phil Craig. Coordinators are permitted to manage a minor league team, but it is not a requirement for the position; Minor League Coordinators will help recruit/recommend other minor league managers.  They will serve as information liasons between the Manager Representative on the Board of Directors, the Minor League Coordinator and the managers within their respective divisions.  They should report any issues pertaining to their specific level of play to the Minor League Coordinator.  Single A and T-ball Coordinators might be asked to help the Player Agent form the teams at these levels.  All Minor League Coordinators will meet as members of the Minor League Committee when necessary.

Tournament Coordinator - (GRLL didn't fill this position last season) This person will work with representatives from both GRLL and RNLL in coordinating the end of the season City Tournament.  This person will also work to ensure summer tournament team opportunities and help to plan the Rattlesnake tournament in June.
