lettered three years for coach Tony Mardirosian at Stratford High School (Houston, Texas)
led the Spartans to two playoff appearances (2005 and 2007)
as a senior (2007), earned a win and a save in the first-round series against Lamar, lifting Stratford to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in 10 years
posted a sparkling 0.39 ERA as a senior, striking out 70 while walking just 10
earned second-team all-city and all-district honors as a senior (2007)
was picked to represent the state on Team Texas in 2007
tallied a 1.31 ERA on the hill as a junior (2006)

High School: Earned All-Southwest Prepatory College honors as a running back and linebacker at Episcopal High School ... Totaled 51 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble his senior season ... As a running back, gained 1,400 yards on 213 carries (6.6 ypc) and had 14 receptions for 300 yards ... Scored 20 TD's in 2007 ... Set school marks for career rushing and scoring, as well as single-season scoring and total offense ... Team's MVP ... Three-time all-conference track and field selection ... Also tabbed the Knights' team MVP in track ... Holds the Knights' shot put record ... Also captained that squad, as well as the Knights' basketball team ... All-conference selection (2007-08) in basketball ... Four-year, three-sport athlete award ... John Sorsby
John Sorsby

High School - Stratford High School. Redshirt Freshman Wide Receiver at New Mexico State University.

High School: Sorsby was Stratford High School's star wide receiver for three years. During his career with the Spartans, Sorsby tallied 117 catches for 1,931 yards and 16 touchdowns. As a senior, Sorsby helped the Spartans to a 10-2 record overall and a district championship. He was named a first team all-City and all-Region selection as a senior and a second team all-State pick his senior season as well. During his senior season, Sorsby caught 57 passes for 1,066 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also earned the Spring Branch ISD Landrum Award and played in the Bayou Bowl All-Star game in 2006.
