Update as of March 25th 2005

Congratulations to Timmy Brackney ~ ASHS Class of 2003 ~ who scored 11 points in tonight's NCAA Division III National Championship game held in Salem, Virginia. Unfortunately, Timmy ended up on the short end of the game as his Rochester (NY) squad lost by 23 points to defending national champions Wisconsin Stevens Point. The full game will be air tomorrow (Sun) & Monday on the College Sports Network. Way to carry on the Cavalier winning tradition Timmy. Congratulations also goes out to Rudy Gay ~ ASHS Class of 2004 ~ as he poured in 17 point in U-Conn 1st round victory over Central Florida. Best of luck to Rudy tomorrow as he faces off against NC State in the 2nd round of the NCAA's......................

Marquis Sullivan led the way Tuesday night scoring 24 points and being named MVP in the Capital/Gazette Ann-Arundel County all-star game held at Broadneck High School. Marquis's performance along with a typical all around heady game by Lawrence Dixon led the way for Coach Josh Pratt (St. Mary's HS) North squad. This is the 2nd time in the past 3 years that a Archbishop Spalding player has been named MVP of the game.

A big congratulation is in order to Timmy Brackney (ASHS Class of '03) and Cory Hudson (ASHS Class of '02) who have advanced to the NCAA Division III Final Four & NJCCA Division II Elite Eight. Timmy scored 10 points (all in the second half) tonight as Rochester (NY) defeated Potsdam State to advance to next weekends NCAA Division III Final Four in Salem, Virginia where they will take on Calvin from Michigan. Cory played 19 minuets on a very tender ankle last Sunday as Cecil Community College routed Prince Georges in the NJCCA District Championship. Cecil advances to the NJCCA Elite Eight next weekend in Danville, Illinois where they will take on #1 nationally ranked Brown Mackey. Way to go guys.............

Congratulation to Lawrence Dixon who was recently named 1st team all Anne-Arundel County by the Washington Post & Capital Gazette. Lawrence was also named to the 1st team of both the Baltimore Catholic League and MIAA "A" Conference. Lawrence will also represent Baltimore as he participates in the national game of the Baltimore Charm City Classic held at Towson University in April. Lawrence will continue his playing career next season at Holy Cross College......

Update as of February 27th 2005

The Cavs season ended in disappointing fashion last night as it suffered its most lopsided defeat of the season falling to St. Frances 59-36. Spalding, showing the effect of not practicing for 2 day due to the snow related school closing, established a season low for points 36, was only able to shoot 11 for 53 (20%) from the field and 3 of 24 (12%) from the 3 point line. The defeat doesn’t take away from a very enjoyable and successful season. Spalding captured the championship of the Bullis Holiday Tournament, were runner-ups in the Benedictine X-Mass Tournament, and handed Mount St. Joes their only conference loss of the season. The Cavs finished 21-12 overall, 8-7 in the BCL, & 8-9 in the MIAA. We would like to say goodbye and thank you to our six seniors: Lawrence Dixon (Holy Cross), Marquis Sullivan (Loyola), Justin Castleberry (Bucknell) Anthony Angion (Marymount), Jason Bisciotti (Lynn), and Brian Isaksen (undecided). You will be sorely missed and not be forgotten soon.
