Welcome to the Grand Prairie Girls Softball Association!
(GPGSA) was formed in 1973 to provide girls in Grand Prairie and surrounding cities with a safe and organized environment to learn how to play softball in a recreational atmosphere. Leagues are formed for girls ages 3years old thru 17 year olds.
(GPGSA) offers both spring and fall seasons. The spring season, generally begins in early March to late May. The fall season, generally begins in early September to late October.
Teams play 10 to 12 games throughout a season, usually 2 games a week. Games are generally played on a specific weeknight, and do not start before 6PM or later than 8PM. Game times vary by age group with the younger girls playing the earlier games. Practice days and times are determined by each teams head coach. Teams are encouraged to have two planned activities (practices and/or games) each week. Coaches generally consult with parents regarding practice days and times.
(GPGSA) is happy to announce the return of BLAST BALL for the 3 and 4 year old boys or girls. Blast Ball is an excellent introductory game for T-Ball and fastpitch softball. It allows for more action for a youngsters short attention span. More kids get to be involved which helps them retain interest in T-Ball and softball concepts. The game is safe and uses a foam bat and ball with no gloves required. Blast Ball teaches the basic T-Ball and softball fundamentals of hitting, throwing, and fielding while emphasizing the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.
