GPGSA: Welcome

Welcome to the Grand Prairie Girls Softball Association!

Grand Prairie Girls Softball Association (GPGSA) was formed in 1973 to provide girls in Grand Prairie and surrounding cities with a safe and organized environment to learn how to play softball in a recreational atmosphere. Leagues are formed for girl’s ages 3years old thru 17 year olds.

(GPGSA) offers both spring and fall seasons. The spring season, generally begins in early March to late May. The fall season, generally begins in early September to late October.

Teams play 10 to 12 games throughout a season, usually 2 games a week. Games are generally played on a specific weeknight, and do not start before 6PM or later than 8PM. Game times vary by age group with the younger girls playing the earlier games. Practice days and times are determined by each team’s head coach. Teams are encouraged to have two planned activities (practices and/or games) each week. Coaches generally consult with parents regarding practice days and times.

(GPGSA) is happy to announce the return of “BLAST BALL” for the 3 and 4 year old boys or girls.  Find out more on the Girls & Boys BLAST BALL page.

GPGSA PARENTS: IMPORTANT MESSAGE!

Dear GPGSA Community and Parents:

This is an important reminder to please supervise and monitor your children while visiting or participating in activities at Jennifer McFalls athletic complex.  Recent disturbing incidents involving the safety of children have been reported at athletic complexes around the MetroPlex.  GPGSA is a community that cares and looks after each other.  We want all our players and spectators to enjoy their experience and above all, stay safe.

Here are some helpful hints to protect our children while visiting McFalls Complex or any GP park:

  • Players and children should stay in groups and not allowed to wonder off alone, especially to wooded areas, areas out of sight and sound and the parking lot at night.
  • Stay in well-lit and populated areas of the park and athletic complex.
  • Parents should monitor or stay with their children AT ALL TIMES
  • Remind children not talk to strangers or leave with anyone except their parents.
  • Lock your vehicle and hide your belongings in the trunk.
  • Call 911 if you see any suspicious behavior or activity.
As a community, it often takes individuals acting on behalf of everyone to protect and safeguard our children and promote a safe environment.  If you see children or a child in situations that pose a threat or risk to them or others, please take a moment to approach a member of the GPGSA Board or coach at the complex and report it.

Thank you.
