Mission Statement

Our Goal is to:

¨      foster the enthusiasm and support for ice hockey through the participation of athletes from all levels.

¨      encourage attendance, commitment and hard work.

¨      demonstrate good sportsmanship, respect and pride.

¨      provide assistance, manpower, leadership and financial assistance when necessary.

The Gorham Ice Hockey Boosters Association (GIHA) began in 1989 with the intent of offering ice hockey to the students of the Town of Gorham. We were able to create a hockey program for students from the middle school.  By 1991 the Boosters were able to include the high school and in 1994 got approval to add ice hockey to the athletic programs of Gorham High School.

Today GIHA is a non-profit volunteer organization that manages ice hockey programs for the middle school boys and high school boys and girls.  Our hockey programs are funded mostly through fundraising and parent and player support.  We are fortunate to have some support from the High School Athletic Department as well which provides some funds for buses, coaches and referees for the high school teams.  Officers are elected to the Board and serve for one year. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month and are open to the public.  Our annual meeting is in April of every year at which time the election of new officers occurs for the following year.

GORHAM ICE HOCKEY REGISTRATION

Registration fees:  $450 (for all teams)

Family Discount:  $200 for each additional player

Unfortunately, we had to raise the cost of registration due to rising ice costs, less fundraising participation and school budget cutbacks.  The Gorham Ice Hockey Board welcomes any suggestions to try to minimize our costs, please attend any of the Board meetings with your ideas. See our website for dates.  We will as always be aggressively pursuing funds raising events such as the Holiday Tournament, Wreath Sale, and other exciting events.  These events will require dozens of volunteers in order to succeed and we will be seeking your help and commitment.  So please check off any volunteer events you can participate in on the registration form.  Without these fundraising events our registration fees will continue to increase.

Online Registration:  If you missed our Registration Night on Sept. 16th, then we have most of the forms Online.  Just click on Registration Online Forms at the bottom of this page and download the forms that you need.  Below is a list of forms by Team that need to be filled out.  If you have any questions about the registration process, please contact any of the Team Administrators for the appropriate team.  Send forms and payment to:

High School Boys and Girls Team - forms needed

Gorham Ice Hockey Registration Form - Please fill out completely.

Gorham Ice Hockey Release Form - Must be signed by a parent.

Gorham Parent / Student Interscholastic Athletic Guide which includes the Athlete Emergency Information Card and Activity Participation and Parental Approval Form - Must be signed both the parent and student.  This is Not Online - Contact the Athletic Department at 222-1099 to make arrangements to get a copy.  If your student has played a Fall Sport then you will not need to fill out this form again.  The form is good for the whole school year for all athletic activities.

Middle School Boys Team - forms needed
