12U-Kennedy Wins PC Pride Summer Classic
The Ann Arbor Gold 12U-Kennedy team competed in the 6th Annual P.C. Pride Summer Classic this past weekend, June 15-17 in Plymouth. We finished the tournement with a 6-0 record securing a first place finish and a berth in the USSSA World Series.
The team went 4-0 in pool play to secure a number 1 seed in bracket play. Our 4th pool play game and our semi finals game was against a tough Windsor Lady Expo's team. They have great pitching and are a quality team. In the finals we played another quality team in the Michigan Outlaws Black team. This was a well played game by both teams with good pitching and timely hitting by our team and some fantastic defensive plays turned in by the Outlaws.
Our season record now stands at 26 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie.

12U-Kennedy Wins ASA Pre-Season Classic
The Ann Arbor Gold 12U-Kennedy team played in the ASA Pre-Season Classic this past weekend, June 1-3, in Toledo at Lucas County Recreation Park. We finished the tournement with a 7-0 on the weekend securing a first place finish.
The team went 4-0 in pool play to secure a number 1 seed in bracket play. After winning the first 2 bracket games, we played the undefeated Lake Erie Waves in the Championship game. This was a well played game by both teams with good pitching and timely hitting. The game was not decided until the final inning with the final score being 5-3 in favor of the Gold.
This improves our season record to 20 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie.

18U-Maier USSSA Livonia Storm Tournament Champions
The Ann Arbor Gold 18U (Maier) team are the 18U Champions of the June 22-24 USSSA Livonia Storm Tournament. The final game was an exciting 3-2 victory over the Michigan Emeralds, highlighted by the play of Mallory Faling, who broke open a 1-1 tie with a 2-RBI single in the 6th inning, then turned an unassisted double play with the Emerald's tying run on third and no outs in the last inning. Amanda Hall allowed only one earned run on seven hits with seven strikeouts and no walks for the win. In the semi-final, the Gold pounded out eight runs to beat the Thunderbirds 8-1, with Brittany Luka going the distance allowing only one run on five hits. Jessica McKeith had 3 RBI and Missy Chomin 2 RBI to lead the offense.

18U-Strehle 2nd at Adrian
The Ann Arbor Gold 18U-Strehle team took home 2nd place honors at the July 13-15 Greg Bell Scholarship Tournament in Adrian. The Gold was 3-0 in pool play and earned a first round playoff bye. A second-round 6-0 win over the Waterloo Ghosts (Canada) earned a trip to the semi-final, where the Gold won 5-4 over the Emeralds. The finals matchup with GR Blaze went to the opponent, but it was a great weekend for Gold finishing 5-1 with 2nd place.

18U-Strehle Wins Oakland Merchant Summer Sizzle
Ann Arbor Gold 18U-Strehle finished 6-0 to win the Oakland Merchants Summer Sizzle tournament held in Waterford, MI on July 27-29. A semi-final 3-2 win over Southgate Thunderbirds set up a final with the Oakland Merchants, where Gold rolled to a 8-2 win. This was a great finish to the season for the 18U team!
