Welcome
Hello and welcome to the home site of Ann Arbor Gold girl's fastpitch softball
organization. We are a group of over one hundred players and coaches on eight
travel softball teams. This year we have players ranging in age from 11 to 19
among our 12U to 18U age groups.
Our Vision
• Ann Arbor Gold Fast Pitch is committed to establishing a long-term
program that develops nationally recognized softball teams.
• We will achieve this by creating an environment of positive discipline,
hard work, integrity, team spirit and a cohesive approach between
players, parents, and coaches.
• We will maximize opportunities to promote and reinforce positive
attributes such as confidence, work ethics, and teamwork. We are
dedicated to developing quality high school and future college softball
players.
2009 Tryouts
Tryouts for 2009 teams will be held Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24 at Veteran's Memorial Park in Ann Arbor (located on the corner of Maple Rd and Dexter Ave).
Saturday, August 23:
Ages 12U and 14U - Registration at 9:30 AM, tryouts begin at 10:00 AM
Ages 16U and 18U - Registration at 12:30 PM, tryouts begin at 1:00 PM
Sunday, August 24:
Ages 16U and 18U - Registration at 9:30 AM, tryouts begin at 10:00 AM
Ages 12U and 14U - Registration at 12:30 PM, tryouts begin at 1:00 PM
2009 Season Contact Information
13U-Kennedy 2nd Place at USSSA World Series
The Ann Arbor Gold 13U girls fast pitch softball team finished in 2nd place at the USSSA 13U World Series held in Salisbury, Maryland held July 21 thru July 26. The team played eventual champions VA Lady Titans twice in the championship round, winning the first game, but coming just short in the second.
AAGold was recognized by winning the tournament Sportsmanship Award, and four members were selected to the All-Tournament Team. Those players, as voted by the umpires and tournament staff, were Andi Dragonetti, Rebekah Guy, Anna Hargrove, and Allie Smith.
The team finished the season with an overall record of 35 - 13.
14U-Gould 2nd at Wizards Tournament
Ann Arbor Gold 14U-Gould finished in 2nd place going 7-1 at the 2nd Annual ASA Wizard Wind Down 15 team field tournament held in Toledo, Ohio July 25-27. The highlight of the tournament was the hard-fought come from behind win in a tough 3-1 semi-final against the Turbos of Columbus, OH. The 10 inning defensive gem and pitching duel between the teams ended with a 2 run double in the left-centerfield gap.
14U-Gould Wins Fast Pitch Classic
14U-Gould takes 1st place in the 30 team field at the 14th annual ASA Fast Pitch Classic held in Toledo, OH July 18-20. Going 8-1 on the weekend, the team overtook the Kitchener Klassics from Ontario, Canada in the bottom of the 7th inning to bring home the championship.
18U-Motor City Showdown
Gold Fastpitch 18U won the Motor City Showdown championship. The team was 6-1 for the weekend. They beat the Batbusters (Milford) in finals 8-6 in extra innings. The game ended in a 4-4 tie and went to international tie-breaker. Tori Turner hit a 3 run homer in the top half of the extra inning to put the Gold up by 4 runs.
Motor City Showdown
14U-Gould finishes 2nd with a 7-1 record at the Motor City Showdown ASA tournament held July 4-6 in Canton. The team had victories over the Lady Lightning, Mattawan Thundercats, and Team Michigan. The also had two victories over both Torco Black and the Findlay Lady Trojans.
Heart of Ohio Celebration
14U-Gould travels to Marysville, OH and competes in the Heart of Ohio Celebration ASA Eastern National Qualifier. The team brings home the 3rd place trophy going 3-1 in a rain shortened event the weekend of June 27-29.
Livonia Storm USSSA Qualifier
14U-Gould takes home 2nd place at the Livonia Storm USSSA Qualifier June 20-22 going 6-1 for the weekend.
2007 USSSA All-State Awards
On March 15th, 600 people attended the USSSA Hall of Fame banquet in Sterling Heights, MI where the 2007 12U Kennedy Gold Fastpitch team was recognized for their accomplishments last season. Players from this team that attend the banquet and received the All-state selection included Sydney Buerster, Andi Dragonetti, Chelsey Gardner, Rachel Jason, Missy Sidor and Allie Smith. These players received a certificate recognizing their all-state selection, as well as a medal and a USSSA “All State Player” shirt.
Coach Doug Kennedy was also recognized and received the “Distinguished Youth Service Award” for his work in the sport of fastpitch softball. He received a plaque to commemorate this award.
