Thank you for the kind words about my Dad, Ray Broughton. I have fond memories of baseball games at Godwin, in particular how much pride the players and coaches had for our school. My Dad had a lot of pride for the school/baseball program as well. We will surely miss him in the years to come but we'll be sure to keep his spirit alive and I will definitely attempt to make it back to some games in the coming 2007 season. Congrats on the big win versus Hermitage. Those types of games bring back so many memories. The teams that I played on had a hard time scoring runs, so 1-0 games were fairly common. Don't take your foot off of the gas!! Stay focused and I believe you will reach your ultimate goal.

Hey Coach!! Love the website. It brings back great memories that I never want to forget. I'm joining a softball league here so I guess I still have that baseball itch. Good luck this year. Tear it up.

Coach,

One, . . . two updates to make. We won the District Tournament Championship in 1990 and 1991 as well. It was before your time, look it up if you have to. Ha ha. Might as well be accurate. Great site though.

Hey Coach,

I guess I missed last year's 10 year anniversary for the 1992 Team that won the Colonial District and Central Regional crowns. That was a special year for me (my senior season) and you (your first season with the Eagles). That year started the long string of regional dominance for Godwin. I still remember knocking off the previously undefeated Midlothian team 11-5 (ranked #5 in the country) in the regional semi's and then crushing Dinwiddie 13-3 in the regional finals. Some good players on that team included Kris Rochelle's brother Jeff Saunders, Jim Sander and Robb Anderson. Remember Robb's grand slam in the finals at Shepherd Stadium?! Well, I have moved to beautiful sunny San Diego, CA, but still try to follow the Eagles when I can. Good luck this year and many years to come!! Sincerely, Scott A. Slankard
