Tournament of Champions Information

It is almost that time!
Back to school time is rapidly approaching so the fall registration is right around the corner for the Greater Norristown Wrestling Club. Once again we will be sending flyers home to the area schools that we support.
Introduction to Wrestling Clinic
The Titans will host an “Introduction to Wrestling Clinic” at the Colonial Middle School wrestling room starting on Monday, October 6, 2008 from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. The clinic will run for four (4) consecutive Monday’s at a total cost of $20.00. If your child decides to join our team the clinic fee would be applied to the registration fee.

I am happy and proud to announce that our Titan boys have done us proud – Ryan Brady and Patrick Fennell battled through a very tough bracket with Ryan placing fifth and Patrick placing fourth.

The Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling State Championship is one of the premier wrestling events in the United States and it brings together the best wrestlers in Pennsylvania to vie for the title of Pennsylvania State Champion. The level of competition is extremely high and it is a tremendous accomplishment to place in such a prestigious event. Congratulations to Patrick and Ryan on such a great showing, we are very proud of both of you.
I would also like to congratulate our friends and practice partners at Norristown PAL on a great showing at the state championship. In the post season when many of our kids move on to other activities we join forces with Norristown PAL to continue our training to prepare for the post season. We form an annual alliance to train, cheer and pray for our boys at the big post-season events. Congratulations to our friends at Norristown PAL on a great outing:

Congratualtions on a great performance! This was the most difficult ICWL novice Championship I have seen because of the sheer numbers of kids competing. This year there were over 400 kids competing on six mats and our wrestlers had to really battle to make it to the podium. I am proud to say we took seven kids to the tournament and had five place winners which is a real testament to the great job Coach Jeff did with the Group 1 kids. Jeff had a great day and was very proud of each and every wrestler and he is looking forward to seeign them back next year.

Season Wrap up
I hope everyone had a great regular season and as we head into the ICWL Open and First Year Novice Championships I look forward to seeing everyone using the moves we worked on this season. We still have a lot of wrestling ahead of us but I wanted to put together a little summary of the things we did well, the things we need to improve on and the things we are planning for next season. If any of you see areas we can improve or if you have a special skill that you can bring to make us better please do not hesitate to email me.
