Yes, We are playing today! Both the 5-7 and 8-11 age groups will start games at 10:00a
The 5-7 & 8-11 age group games start times will be 10:00a (be there at 9:45a). We will have the pizza party and trophy presentations after the game. If it rains, the 5-7 year old group can move their party to the center. The 8 -11 group will use the park pavillion. The makeup game for the 8 -11 age group from October 17th postponement will be played on November 7, 2009 at 9:15a at the Lincoln Vista field.

The following are the practice schedules and game fields for each age group:
Ages 5-7 - M & Th at 6:00p (Glenn Dale Park); Games on Saturdays at 9:00a
Ages 8-11 - Lincoln Vista field (Tu at 5:30p); Games on Saturdays at 10:00a
Ages 12 - 16 - Sandy Hill Park (Tu & Th at 6:00p); Full scale scrimmages on Saturdays at 9:00a.

Inclement Weather
In general, we will stick to the practice/game schedule unless there is thunder and lightening in the area at the time of the event or a soaking rain. Please check the website for updates as late as 2 hours before practice/game start times to get the decision.

Badminton
Badminton continues to be played at the Rec Center on Saturdays (check website for times).
Currently we play 11am - 1pm, and we are planning a tournament in May.

Some Functional Details About Soccer
There are two soccer seasons (Fall and Spring) that last about eight weeks. Practices are in the evenings up to two days per week. The GDRC soccer leaque is co-ed and the participants' ages range from 5 to 17. The games are typically on Saturday mornings between the hours of 8:30a to 12:30p.
Coaches typically come from the pool of parents whose children are participating. Training is offered at no cost to parent coaches who have no soccer experience. The objective is for everyone to play and have fun.
Shin guards are required for games and scrimmages. Cleats are preferred but not required for games and scrimmages.
Parents are encouraged to help with practices and games by helping with drills and/or setting the field up for games. Helping with gathering the field equipment after select games would also be appreciated.
