MISSION STATEMENT:
Glenn Dale Recreation Council is dedicated to providing safe and enjoyable recreational opportunities in which all children participate, regardless of skill level, and where focus is placed on children having fun, learning mutual respect, good sportsmanship and teamwork, as well as basic skills, strategies, and rules of a game.
This web page is dedicated to the players, parents, coaches,and others who are contributing to the success of our sports programs.
The Glenn Dale Rec Council has monthly meetings the second Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. Please come out and join us at our meetings!!

Splash Park Party Scheduled for Friday, May 29th was a "splash"
The worse case scenario occurred. It rained, it poured, and then the thunder. We moved inside and had lots of pizza. It's amazing, the kids didn't seem to mind that much. Thanks to Sheila Bunkley and the Bunkley family for making all of the arrangments for the council and thanks to Byron Thompson for being flexible with the facility logistics. Everyone who was there pitched in and that was greatly appreciated.
GDRC is an all volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to sponsoring safe and enjoyable events for Glenn Dale and its surrounding communities. While the Glenn Dale "Community Center" is kind enough to help our organization, it is not responsible for the programs GDRC sponsors. The community center phone number is (301)352-8983. Baseball Practice
The U13 (ages 11-13) baseball practice for boys will start tomorrow, Monday, May 11th, at the Glenn Dale Park (6:30p). Parents who are interested in softball or T-ball should also show up to see if there is enough interest to create other teams. Please speak to Floyd Smith if you are interested in organizing the team. Floyd will be working with the U13 team. We need interested parents who are willing to organize. If no one is able to do it this year, but would like to see us re-establish other age groups next year, please let us know so we can plan for next season. E-mail tracey_clay@yahoo.com.

Inclement Weather
In general, we will stick to the practice/game schedule unless there is thunder and lightening in the area at the time of the event or a soaking rain. Please check the website for updates as late as 2 hours before practice/game start times to get the decision.
