Glendale Little League: Welcome

Glendale Little League in Glendale, Wisconsin, is a chartered member of Little League International, with participants from Glendale, River Hills, Bayside, and Fox Point Wisconsin. Over 380 players from ages 6 through 13 participate in 4 divisions. The Junior Division includes players ages 13 &14, the Majors Division ages 11& 12, the Minors Division ages 9 & 10, and the Rookie Division ages 6, 7, & 8.

Founded in 1970, Glendale Little League teams have participated at the State, Regional, and National levels of the Little League International tournament.

Please join us for the inaugural Glendale Little League Fun Day on Sunday June 3rd.

Dunk your favorite coach or umpire.

See if your fastball measures up to that of your favorite player.

Hit one out during the home run derby, all the while winning valuable prizes and raising funds for the League!

The 1st GLL Family Fun Day, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, will directly support our ongoing fundraising efforts. Glendale Little League has a great opportunity this 2012 season to raise much needed funds to support the maintenance and improvement of our complex. A generous anonymous donor has offered to match dollar-for-dollar, donations made by our families throughout the 2012 season! Fun Day activities for family, friends and players alike, will include baseball-related activities such as speed pitch, hitting challenge, a dunk tank and a home run derby. The funds raised from your purchase of tickets for the Fun Day events will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the anonymous donor.

Even if you are unable to participate in Fun Day activities, every dollar donated directly by families before June 30th will be matched by the anonymous donor! Every dollar counts and your donation is fully tax deductible! With your help, this campaign will be a significant financial impact on our League.

Glendale Little League, a volunteer, non-profit recreational program, relies on donations from individuals and local company sponsors to help support the financial costs of running the league, such as purchasing and replacing equipment, paying umpires, and maintaining our fields. Without the generosity of these sponsors, the registration fees paid by member families would be higher and would increase more frequently.

All funds raised by this campaign will be used to continue the field upgrades such as those that have been made within the past couple of years, including: new restrooms; complete field re-grading and irrigation installation at the GLL West, East, and Junior fields; re-building the Good Hope infield; and installation of bullpens at the GLL fields. Future projects include dugout fencing and batting cages at Good Hope School Field and lights on the fields at the GLL complex.

These types of opportunities do not come very often so let’s maximize our generosity to maximize the donor’s generosity. Thank you all for helping to make Glendale Little League a success!

Little League International has enacted additional rules regarding composite bats. The changes primarily deal with the use of composite-barreled bats in the Junior Division.

Composite-barreled baseball bats in the Junior Division, regardless of barrel size, must now meet BBCOR (Batted Ball Co-Efficient of Restitution) standards, and must be so labeled. Note that all composite-barreled baseball bats that meet the BBCOR standard have a “drop” of no more than “minus-3.” However, in the Junior League Baseball division, bats that do not have composite materials in the barrel (i.e., all metal, all alloy, all wood), and meet all other applicable standards, can have ANY drop weight. Bats with a barrel of less than 2 5/8 inches also can be used in the Junior League Baseball Division, but must still comply with all other specifications noted. 

The important thing for Juniors families to remember when buying a 2 5/8 inches barrelled bat is that if the bat has a composite barrel, it must be no more than a -3 drop to be legal. It must also be labelled "Meets or Exceeds BBCOR (Batted Ball Co-Efficient of Restitution) Standards".
