Glassboro Soccer Club: Pee-Wee Soccer

Pee-Wee Soccer Program - Coed - Boys and Girls Born in 2011 & 2012)

My name is Matthew Browne and I will be coordinating the Pee
Wee Soccer Program for the Glassboro Park & Recreation this fall. The Pee Wee
Soccer Program is a five week instructional based soccer clinic for four and
five year old children in our community. This is a unique opportunity for your
children to learn the basics of soccer and have fun at the same time.

The Pee-Wee soccer program will run for five weeks starting
on September 10, 2016 and ending October 08 ,2016. The program will run on
Saturday mornings from 9:00am to 10:00 am at the South Delsea Drive Park. The
program will be broken down into three core areas, stretching, instruction, and
will end with a soccer-based game.  Rain-dates will be added beginning on
October 8th if necessary.

Each child that participates in the program will receive a Pee
Wee Soccer Shirt.  Cleats and shin guards
are mandatory and may be purchased at any local store.  Shorts or Sweat pants may be worn, depending
on the weather.  Black is usually a safe
color.  Please be sure that your child
brings plenty of water, as we will be taking several breaks to ensure none of the
players get overheated, especially during the first few weeks.

This is a very interactive program, and parents are welcomed
onto the field during the practices to help us encourage your son or daughter
to participate in the drills and games. The children will be split up into
teams based on the jersey they are given, and will participate in four soccer
related drills each session. Each of these drills will be coordinated by a
volunteer high school student. The players will then be broken down into teams
of three or four and will play small sided games against other players. The
goal of these games is to teach the players teamwork, sportsmanship, and the
basics of the game of soccer, and the rules that are created for these games will
focus on these goals.

Please arrive about fifteen minutes early on the first day,
so that I can hand out any important information for the program. If you have
any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at (856) 905-7941 or

We will be using a website called Rained Out to send notifications
about any cancellations. All parents, coaches and volunteers are being
asked to please Register at .
After registering for the alerts, you may chose an email or text message
notification.  You will receive an alert the minute a field is closed due
to weather. With all the families and volunteers involved in the MM &  Pee Wee
program, this is the most efficient means of notification. While I will make
every effort not to cancel any of our sessions, the players safety is our
primary goal.
