Girard Playground belongs to the Jefferson Parish Recreation Department, covering the northeastern area of Metairie, Louisiana, along Lake Pontchartrain, in suburban New Orleans. Our park has been providing youth sport opportunities to the community since the 1960's, has a rich tradition of success in allstar competition - and is back better than ever after Hurricane Katrina. We have an active participant and parent base through the Girard Booster Club, and thousands of children have fond memories of their time at "Girard".
