HLADKY MEMORIAL STADUIM AT VOLUNTEER PARK was built in 1990 and received it's name because of the generous volunteers such as the who helped build and fund the field; as well as the numerous volunteers who maintain the field year in and year out. In 2014, the field changed to Hladky Memorial Field, due to the family's generous and continuous support to the field and program over the last 30 years.
NEW FOR 2009- In the fall of 2009/spring of 2010, Volunteer Fieldhouse was built to provide an indoor practice facility for the program. The facility measures 60x120 ft and is equipped with 2 batting cages, 2 indoor mounds, and completely turfed. It is used by hundreds of people in the Gillette community each year.
NEW FOR 2013- In the fall of 2012, the infield received a complete makeover. Academy Sports Turf from Englewood Colorado, installed new state of the art field turf across the entire infield, including the batters boxes. The entire warning track was also turfed. Finally, a NCAA approved turf mound rounds out the beautiful infield, making this field like none others in the region. The facility also received a facelift in the summer of 2013, when over 75 beautiful evergreen trees were planted, as well as landscaping river rock and wood chips. A brand new concrete sidewalk on both entrances and a new cement walkway throughout the entire premises. This playing surface and facilities make Roughrider Stadium one of the top fields in the country.
NEW FOR 2014- A brand new concession stand was built, with raised concrete around it, making it a patio-like setting for watching games. The concession stand includes all your ballpark food and Riders apparel. There was also a beautiful brick wall added to both sides of the entrance of the stadium with bricks available for personal engraving. The existing buildings were also painted a new tan color.
NEW FOR 2015- RIDERS MEMORIAL BRICK WALL- Built in 2015, by Dan Barton with Barton Construction, the wall offers an opportunity to buy a permanent piece at Hladky Memorial Stadium. Bricks are a one-time cost of $125.00 and are engraved each year by Doug Cox with Western Fencing Services. A great gift for former players, fans, sponsors, and memorials. Brick Wall is located right inside the tunnel entering Hladky Memorial Stadium. This wall also serves as a fundraiser for the team and all proceeds go to support Riders American Legion Baseball.
* To purchase a brick please contact Steve Laakso at 307-680-4956.
NEW FOR 2016- A brand new Players Clubhouse was built in the spring of 2016. The beautiful building has a huge locker room for both the Riders and Rustlers, as well as 2 coaches offices, a large meeting room, and a bathroom. The beautiful facility was donated by the Hladky family. It is hooked onto the Indoor Facility and is completely finished inside.
Hlakdy Memorial Stadium also features: grandstand seating, a giant inning by inning scoreboard with Riders arch, lighting, turfed cage, turfed bullpens, concession stand, pressbox, team clubhouse and an indoor facility.
