Riders Manager Nate Perleberg just finished his 4th season as Gillette's head coach. In four seasons, Perleberg has compiled a .687 winning percentage with a 199-91 overall record. This season, the Riders finished State Runner Up and 46-29 overall. It was the third straight season that the Riders have played in the State Championship Game. In 2008 Perleberg led the Riders to their first ever State Championship, including an amazing 51-11 overall record. The Championship earned the Riders their first ever Regional appearance, where they went 1-2. In 2007, he led the squad to an all-time win record with a 53-26 overall record, and a State Runner Up Finish. Under Perleberg, the Riders also won the 2006 State Sportmanship Award along with a 49-25 record in 06.
Perleberg's goal is to develop a class-act, winning tradition in Gillette baseball. "We want to be recognized as one of the top programs in the area year in and year out. Our program is centered around hard-work, respect, teamwork, and dedication. We expect our players to work very hard, be committed to what we do, and have very high expectations year in and year out."
One of his proudest accomplishments in his four years is having 16 players move on to play college baseball in just four seasons. "To have this many players provided the opportunity to go on and play, shows the quality of individuals that we have in our program. I've been blessed to have the opportunity to coach such great individuals the past few seasons, who sacrifice so much for this program."
In the off-season Perleberg teaches 5th grade at Paintbrush Elementary and has completed his Masters in Administration. He also recently signed as an associate scout for the Kansas City Royals.
