Shippensburg goes extra innings to defeat Gettysburg 11 -10. Gettysburg will play Pen Mar on Thursday July 9, @ Pen Mar. Game start time is 5:45.

Rotary was a 5 to 2 winner over CE in the majors tournament final. Rotary exploded for 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to halt a 4 inning pitchers duel.

CE Williams defeated Lions 8-7 and will face Rotary in the tournament final tonight, June 11 @ 6:30 on field 1.  A coin toss will be held prior to the game to determine the home team.

Rotary defeats Moose 5 to 1 to face the winner of tonight's Lions/CE game. The Championship game will be played Friday night at 6;30 pm unless tonight's game gets re-scheduled due to the weather.

This year, in addition to a regular season champion, we are having a post season tournament championship.  A draw was held on Saturday to determine match-ups.

Tuesday June 9 @ 6:30 p.m.  CE will host the Lions on field 1 and Rotary will host Moose on field 2. The winners will advance to the tournament championship game to be played on field 1  on Thursday June 11 @ 6:30 p.m.

The mid-majors tournament games will begin on Tuesday June 2.

AOS will host PNC on field 1 & Pella will host Eddies on field 2.

A decision to play or cancel today's games will be a game time decision. The outfields are fine but the infields our areas of concern. We're waiting until late this afternoon to work on the fields.  Managers/coaches and parents are encourged to arrive at the park as early as possible to help us prep the fields for play. 

Players are expected to report at their normal times unless contacted and notified otherwise by your teams manager or coach.

Rec Park has canceled today's games due to wet field conditions.  The games will be re-scheduled for Saturday May 30.

Gettysburg Little League will host the majors tournament. Greencastle will be the host for the 11-10 team & Pen Mar will host the 9-10 team. All district team managers are required to attend the tournament draw meeting 2 p.m. Sunday,  June 21, location TBD. Volunteers will be needed to help host the majors. Parents of players selected to the majors tournament team will be required to volunteer.

Both games will be played tonight! However, any substantial rain before or during the game will more than likely result in the postponement of games.

Rec Park contacted me at 11:45 a.m. to inform me that all games are postponed today. However, if our fields' conditions improve throughout the afternoon and as long as we line the fields,  I am waiting until 4 p.m. to determine if we play or postpone today's games.

In an effort to allow the fields to dry and still play games today, the mids games will be rescheuled for 5 p.m and the FMIC/GFR game will begin at 3 p.m. Mid-majors players are expected to report to the fields 1 hour before the game start time.

Lions went undefeated to win the first half season. The seond half of the season begins June  12. If another team wins the second half of the season a three game championship series will be played to determine the season champion.  If Lions win the second half they'll be the season champion. A single game elimination tournament will be held at the end of the season to determine a tournament champion.

A decision to play or cancel today's games will be a game time decision. The infields are fine but the outfields our areas of concern. We are bringing industrial blowers at 2:30 in an effort to dry the outfields enough for play.

Rain or shine, games or no games, Subs must be picked up tonight at rec park beginning at 6 pm. Check with you manager or team mom regarding the the pick-up time frame.

Today's  games  GFR vs GE  and PNC vs Pella are postponed. At this time due to a potential revised game schedule, the rescheduling of these games is TBA.

Today's Lions/CE and Rotary/Moose games will be rescheduled for Sunday May 17,  time TBA. Sunday games are played at 2 pm but we are considering alternate start times. Please take a moment to return to the home page to complete the games survey and let us know which start time you prefer regarding the play of Sunday games.

Monday May 4 games are canceled due to rain. The Lions/Rotary game will be rescheduled on Monday May 11 field 1. The PNC/AOS game will not be rescheduled.

Sunday's  May 3, Moose/CE is canceled due to rain. The game will be rescheduled for May 11 on field 2. 

April 23 games will be played today. Lets hope this is the beginning of many sunny days and warmer temperatures.

Rec park has informed me the fields are too wet to play.  All ball games at Rec park are canceled.  

Lions vs Rotary and  PNC vs AOS games will be rescheduled for Monday May 4th.

April 21 games, Moose vs CE & FMIC vs GE , are postponed due to wet field conditions. The games will be rescheduled for the next available rain date, Friday May 1.

The rescheduled CE/Rotary & Eddies/AOS games  for today are postponed due to rain.

CE vs Rotary will be rescheduled for Sunday April 26 @ 2pm on field 1.

AOS vs Eddies will be rescheduled for Saturday May 2 @ 3pm on field 2.

When the fields were inspected at 7 a.m the infields were soft and the outfields were squishy. Due to the sun and slight breeze we are confident that the fields will dry enough for us to play the scheduled games. Therefore, I am requesting that Rec Park line the fields and permit us to make a final decision at 5pm.

Today's games, April 15, are postponed due to wet field conditions. The games will be rescheduled for Monday,  April 20th.  Managers will be contacted regarding the re-scheduling of pictures.

Today's games, April 14, are postponed due to the rain and cold. The games will be rescheduled for Friday,  April 17th. 

Due to the cancelled games tonight, 4/14,  pictures for PNC and Pella have been rescheduled for Saturday, April 18. PNC will have their pictures taken at 2:30pm and Pella will be at 3:00pm.

Opening Day Ceremonies will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday April 18. Teams will begin lining up on the field at 11:10. All players should be at Rec Park No later than 11 am.

             I want to thank everyone who supported our 7-8 year olds on last night, April 7, during such cold temperatures and explain the process utilized in determining to postpone games due to the weather. Although it was extremely cold, the players, managers, coaches and the umpire presented a positive attitude which allowed the players to have a great time in spite of the cold weather; the level of enthusiasm was outstanding.

              Due to the unpredictability of the weather and the limited use of fields every effort is made to play the games as scheduled. Fields are lined by Rec Park at 2:30. If the maintenance department is unable to line the fields games are postponed.

             Once the fields are lined, unless it begins raining heavily or there’s a severe storm warning, the decision to postpone a game resides with the umpire. The umpires’ decision to postpone a game is made prior to the start of the game and is based on insuring the players’ safety.

            In hindsight, it probably would have been in our best interest to postpone last night’s game. I was holding practice on field 2 before the start of the game  and didn’t realize how cold it had become.  Had I known earlier in the afternoon that it would turn so cold, I would have informed the umpire to postpone the game. The umpire made the correct call to play the game. It was my responsibility to postpone the game.

            On behalf of Gettysburg Little League I’d like to apologize for not postponing the game and let you know we will add a cold weather procedure when determining to postpone games. Thank you for your understanding and continuing support.

The fields have been lined for today and are ready for play. Unless your team manager has indicated otherwise, please plan on having your child report to the field at least 10 minutes before your team takes the field for warm -up. 

Home team gets the field for infield 5:15 to 5:35.

Away team gets the field  for infield 5:35 to 5:55.
