February 21st Tournament
The competition this weekend was fierce. A very tough tournament in
Chattanooga and Columbia. Just getting out of pool play was a major
achievement. Basically, if you got out of pool play you were in the
gold bracket. Given those parameters, Georgia Juniors did really
well.
-
The 13's exited pool pay in Columbia, South Carolina
-
The 14's exited pool play in Chattanooga.
-
The 15-1's exited pool play in a very tough "power" bracket.
-
The 15-2's split every match in pool denying themselves a post play match but proving they could play with anyone.
-
The 15-3's won four out of their eight games which was a great improvement over
their past performance of winning only one game. -
I watched the 16-3's play and they did great. Inconsistency led to some late game losses but they played their hearts out and had some moments of brilliance.
-
The 16-2's got to the semi finals and the 17-2's finished up in the
finals.
Tuesday, February 10
-
The 13's scrimmaged in South Carolina and demonstrated obvious improvement over their first time in the competitive arena a week ago.
-
The 14's took third in a power tournament which is awesome since most of that team has never been on a volleyball court before.
-
The 15-1's won the silver in a power tournament.
-
The 15-2's won the gold in their event!
-
The 15-3's won the silver in their tournament.
-
The 16-1's finished in the finals again in a power tournament after defeating several A5 teams and their arch rivals GA5. Way to go 16-1's.
-
The 16-2's went UNDEFEATED in their tournament. AMAZING! CONGRATULATIONS!
-
The 16-3's had a tough go of it but picked up some quality wins. Keep plugging ladies.
-
Once again the 17-1's finished in the finals of a power tournament. This is getting boring :-)
-
The 18's, without their setter or middle went on to win the silver.
-
But the gold star this week goes to the 17-2's. They had to play in an 18's bracket and wound up in the finals after defeating teams from major programs such as CSA and Atlanta Boom.
Congratulations student/athletes, coaches and parents. We did GOOD!

The 14's had a great tournament. They finished in the gold bracket of a POWER tournament in their first outing!
-
The 15-1's had a tough tournament due to too many missed serves but on the last day they won the consolation bracket at Suwanee. On the way they had defeated the eventual winners of the tournament in pool play.
-
15-2's Beat Dig to Win, and finished in third place by defeating Atlanta Boom in Chattanooga.
-
The 15-3's also took a game from Boom and won 27-25 against Tri-County !!!!
-
The 16-1's made it all the way to the finals of the gold bracket in Suwanee!
-
The 17-1's also made it all the way to the finals of the gold bracket in Suwanee!
-
16-2's had a great day winning two games and losing a third by two points. We know the 16-3's are thrilled since they split with the 16-2's.
-
The 17-2's took third in Chattanooga after beating some traditionally tough teams.
-
The 18's had a blast. They went into the event seeded 10th and came out seeded 4th. The college coaches were all over our girls with intense interest from a number of them.
