Comments:
Will Campbell had an excellent Fall Season pitching against some of the best teams in the Southeast. Will was the number one starter for his Travel Select team competing in Showcase tournaments at East Cobb and in Florida. Having just started pitching his sophomore year, Will has a tremendous upside as he continues to grow physically (currently 6-3, 185 lbs). Will currently throws his fastball in the 84-86 mph range which has excellent downward movement and results in a lot of ground ball outs. His curve ball is tight with good sharp break and is definitely a strike out pitch. Will also has a good change up with downward and away movement. Will throws "strikes" and challenges each batter, and has an excellent inning to walk ratio. Will is beginning his junior season at Alexander High School, one of the top 4AAAA Baseball programs in the state. Three Alexander Seniors have recently signed with D1 schools (Torre Langley - Georgia Tech, Dean Weaver - Georgia, Brent Maxwell - Georgia Southern) and Will should continue that tradition in 2007. Will has a brother, Andy Campbell, who is currently pitching for D1 Mercer University. As Will continues to work with Matt Capps (current Pittsburg Pirate pitcher), his upside continues to grow. In addition to Will's pitching skills, he is an excellent student with a strong family support system. Will will be an asset to any college program both as an athlete and as a student. Lots of extra bases and RBI's, a true diamond in the rough never playing select ball but more than able to make his mark! Showed well in the 05 Perfect Game underclassmen showcase.

Very quick release. Willing to hold the plate on play. Has the skill to play in most HS programs as freshman.
